love this band... would be so cool to see them at bigger venues. where camerawork could show the band, moreso than the audience... sound is super... thx for sharing! :)
Your car was jacked! Sorry for That. Nice to hear that your R-26 is much better than the Zoom H4n! I really want to hear a new version with all the frequencies below 100Hz. I'm planning to buy the ROLAND R-26 instead the Zoom H4n, but I'm still checking... I'm just afraid that the Zoom H4n has better dynamic range.
@gtorelly Well, check back, I'm sure I will be out shooting again soon. But if you are considering buying one to replace your Zoom, just having used it once, I would say to run, not walk, to the nearest online store. :) The Roland came set to cut below 100Hz as the factory setting, so I was just trying it right out of the box to see what I got. Based on your recommendation, I will certainly take that off for the next time.
Well, maybe you can remaster again, but I can't feel good LOW frequencies as I can hear in the Zoom H4n. But I think the noise floor of the R-26 is much better as you can see here:
@gtorelly Well, this was my first time using the R-26. Now that I think about, I did have it set to cut below 100Hz. Maybe that's what you're hearing. About 6 weeks ago I was car jacked, and I lost my Zoom H4n and my camcorder which were in the trunk. This night was my first night out playing with my new camera and the R-26, so I was a virgin with this equipment. I can say, after using the Zoom H4n for the previous 9 months, I was AMAZED at the sound file I brought home this night.
@gtorelly With the Zoom, I was always having to EQ a bunch, and then compress a lot. For this sound file, I didn't EQ at all. Just a little compression, then normalized to get the volume back up. I always felt like I was fighting the sound files off the Zoom, but I was thrilled when I heard the raw track on the Roland. Next time, I'll take the low cut off, and see what I get.
@gtorelly Really? What do you mean? The bass is thumping in my headphones on my original track. Maybe it got sampled down a bit when switched to 16 bit from 24? When I watch on my iPhone, I don't hear the lows, but that's to be expected, I guess.
Great music, and the quality of the video is great. I also film with the canon t3i, and I am hoping to purchase the 50mm 1.8 soon. Im hoping to film my friends band, this video has made it clear to me that the lens is great for filming in low light conditions with the strobe lights and everything. Thanks for uploading this, it has helped me decide about the lens :)

Fantastic retro music!
Hey, your Roland R-26 doesn't have good LOW frequencies?
