look guys and girls i have found the main reason for the car that would not start, its the moister thats on the wires and on the coil, so how to get rid of that? its simple you just have to cover it with a blanket or towel in winter or on rainy days, problem solved. i hope as many people as possible will read my comment, thanks, btw u have to remove it every time u want to drive ur car,
I own a 97 pontiac grand am se, my car was misfiring so i had my coils, spark plugs and modular fixed, it was fine for a week, but know its doing it again, know what it could be???
one of the posts on my coil is rusty, the others are fine. I have a 3800 series II GM V6 in a Buick Lesabre. My car shutters under acceleration. How do I know the coil is bad? Should I replace it? THANKS!!
@greatautohelp I have a hesitation going into 2nd gear in my 2004 Chevy Impala 3.4 engine when cold, as it warms up the problem goes away! I had a shadetree mechanic do a tuneup on my car and he crossed the wiring up and broke a spark plug, I made him install a new spark plug to replace the one he broke but car still driving bad. Could that hesitation be from a bad spark plug / plugs or is my tarnny going out? Thanks!
ihave a buick century 1998 and have a check engine light i take the car 4 inspection and come out whit code po140,po141,po304 any one now what they mine
@kingcollazo0307 p0140 is no activity detected on Oxygen sensor.
P0141 is Heater for Oxygen sensor is not working. Bad oxygen sensor with both codes showing or its disconnected. Its on Bank 1 which is where cylinder number 1 exhaust manifold is at its the Oxygen sensor before Converter.
P0304 is cylinder number 4 misfire. Bad spark plug or wire. If you had P0301 too the ignition module or coil is bad which is what 1 and 4 fire at the same time.
thanks so much, tons of rust on plug wire 5, caused my misfireing, and also to answer edyman87's question, what i had to do was remove the alternator and reach back behind the motor.
My spark plug wires were bad and it was letting the moisture to get in the coil so now the coil is rusted. I bought new spark plug wires and I managed to replace the 3 on the front of the engine. But I cant get at the back of the engine to replace the other 3. If you have time can you please demonstrate on the video how to get access to the spark plugs which are located at the back of the engine? My engine is 3.1 v6. Same engine shown in the video. 1995 grand am se coupe.
hey, i also have a 3.1 v6 in my 96 beretta, its kind of a pain to get to the, its easiest way to get to them is to take your alternator off, and all so if you have cruise control, the little box for the cruise control, this way you can get you arm down to the plugs, expect to spend 2-4 hours on the back 3.
