Opeth? Porcupine Tree? Katatonia? These guys are all in one badass social circle with one another? IF they EVER go on tour together in the States, that'll be the cherry topping to the cake of my life!

can someone get the 3 videos of steven interviewing mike on here? i was able to watch them the first day i found them and since then never again, in any browser. idk if its me or the site, but i'd really like to see them again and show a friend. thanks =]
Funny note, not sure if you all know this, but whatever:) Mikael Åkerfeldt plays the second solo on the track "Arriving somewhere but not here" by Porkupine tree:)
I love both bands and I have all their records! What the hell, is someone pulling a scam on me!?
Though it is kinda obvious, the two of them working together. They should get in touch with Daniel Gildenlöw and Roine Stolt as well. Would be awesome. :D:D:D
I figured it out when I heard the riff at 5:12 in PT's song "Gravity Eyelids". Later that day I listened to The Leper Affinity and realized the final riff before the piano was pretty much the same as the one in Gravity Eyelids. I read some backround on them (this was when I had just gotten into these bands) and was amazed!! =)
i knew he like them... i had the same emotions and reactions to OPETH that he had with them starting about 4 years ago... i was just blown away... i knew of porcupine tree, just didn't listen to them... now i can't stop... ive been listening to Porcupine Tree, Three, and OPETH none stop for the past 3 weeks...
Yeah it was unlikely to find out about this since they both sound like two completely different bands yet they are friends with eachother because their both awesome bands
such a nice guy, met him a few times, gave me a free opeth shirt, a wallet and a limited edtion version of watershed the last time i met him, got the band out to sign it as well, and a picture and alll=]
its nice to meet a guy in a band who insnt stuck up and would actually talk to you for a while=]
yea he was playin belfast for the first time, so we went round the venue early in the afternoon and met the whole band, he talked to me and my mate for a while and asked us about belfast, he asked us to show him if ther wer any vinyl and record shops nearby and we ended up buyin him one out of a local shop,
He produced 3, my bad, lol Blackwater Park, Damnation and Deliverance. But technically 2 cause damnation and deliverance were supposed to be a double album set.
Hahaha, my mom walked in on my when I was watching this and thought it was a webcam conversation. She looked at me and said "Do you know this boy?" lol

Wow. I can totally relate to Akerfeldt--to the hunger for anything and everything Wilson has recorded. I have never heard a Porcupine Tree track that I haven't fallen completely in love with! Wilson can do no wrong.
He likes "Porcupine Tree" because David Wison owns them, lol. No other reason, not even their GENRE of music! Fucking "A", more bullshit from another bought rock star. Fags, all of you.
Ha. Should he apologize for his accent? Get over yourself, you think you're so indie or whatever. He said they haven't released a song he doesn't like, so I believe that's another reason he likes Porcupine Tree.. also, I'm not really sure you know who Mikael Akerfeldt is. Not exactly a "bought rock star."
It's hilarious how he just got in touch with Steve Wilson after he liked the band so much. I wish i could call Mikael and ask him to produce some of my stuff. Hahaha
His english in this video compared to Roundhouse Tapes = big fucking difference. Here he has a very very swedish accent to it and in Roundhouse he sounds almost like a englishman! ;D
probably cause he's in a small room with a camera and some journalist but during roundhouse he was in front of thousands of people in england itself. (i'm swedish too :P )
Well Damnation is an unbelievable record when it comes to atmosphere. There is no growling vocals in it but its still one of the best records ever made period in my opinion. Deliverance is the heaviest record for sure and Watershed is my favorite. It took me about 4 or 5 listens to really get into Watershed but once you do get into it, it is immensely enjoyable. Honestly though, all the albums are top notch, must have records.
You guys are clearly newbie Opeth fans. Morningrise and Orchid are amazing Opeth albums. My Arms, Your Hearse is probably my personal favorite of theirs, I can't stand anything after that (Ghost Reveries and Watershed are dog shit)
CLEARLY you're one of those people who likes to say their old albums are better just so you can say you've been listening to them longer. Opeth has actually gotten BETTER in progression with each album.
lulz. that's pretty outrageous that you're hatin on their fanliness and you're saying that those two albums suck ass. i personally, haven't heard one single Opeth song that i didn't like. and i've got Watershed, Ghost Reveries, Blackwater Park, and Deliverance, not to mention everything else i've downloaded and such. they rock my socks.
