  • I only hear fractals.

  • i just finished season 1, loved it, i remember when they aired it on adult swim years ago, but i didnt watch it for some reason, and as far as highschool themed anime is concerned, there are a lot of them right now, ive watched some of them, i liked HOTD, angel beats, and baka and test to name a few.

  • This song is fantastic,sugoi!

  • Rare anime where main characters are not schoolboys or schoolgirls. And of course it's really interestenig.

  • One of THE best songs I have ever experienced.

Was it collectively made soley for the opening or does the artist(s)

    have other works or pieces?

Anyone recommed songs or genres like this one?

    Please, thanks in advance.

  • Ангелы и Демоны кружили надо мной

    Рассекали вечные и млечные пути

    Не зная... wtf?

Im russian, and i cant understand the starting. That is just combination of epic russian words

  • I'm going to start watching this series but I need to know do I watch the first movie first or Stand Alone Complex first.

  • @UltimatDigimonFan Watch Stand Alone Complex first

  • @unavailablepanda You're a moron, and I say that with the least possible hint of disrespect. The 2nd and 3rd movies were licensed a couple of months right after the 1999 release of The Matrix. The Wachowski Brothers already had a trilogy in mind (regardless if warner bros would re-sign). They had their script for the three movies in the works BEFORE their FIRST movie which was Bounded. Now you do the math. Also, they have more important concepts in them than those series. Strictly philosophical.

  • Soboy ostat'sya dol'she what language is this?

  • @elothras

    Russian language

  • Cómo mola el tema.

  • best ever anime intro

  • translation is wrong

  • I'm a big Anime/Manga lover. and i jus recently started watching this one on Netflix. My dad used to watch it all the time when i was younger. now i understand why he did. Now I love it, its amazing :D

  • EPIC EFFIN!!! i love this ANIME!!

  • MATRIX movie was taken from this anime said the Cohen bros... japanese really are sugoiiii

  • excelent

  • This makes me want to become the hahahahahaha MAN!!!!!

  • I love you people you understand my way of thinking on anime <3 it is more than it seems and manga to.. by the way thank you very much for posting

  • @xxriznoxx People like you should go die in a fire. You are now blocked and being removed for being a massive insensitive faggot who takes out his anger in his life by attacking people over the internet because he is pathetic. No where did he say he thought he was best, he simply said that people who watch anime are enlightened to more concepts and have more openness about them. I really don't think you can make accusations here about helping anyone, since you obviously have never done so.

  • @xxriznoxx By looking at your comment I'd say that you were try ing to compensate for some sort of issue you're dealing with but what you said was freaking uncalled for. Shut up and do something more useful than being an internet bully.

  • @xxriznoxx wow cool it man i never said anything about us being better i just meant i like like ppl that act the same as me and yes i do make a living of anime so watch it i design games for a living and not american games i make japanese games so watch wat you say about anime okay? cause its my life style and i hate when ppl make fun of it it makes me feel depressed :(

  • @xxriznoxx why do you go on youtube then?....to entertain yourself by writing hateful comments. What an absolute hypocrite! Instead of wasting your time here go and lead by example and help the poor people out.

  • 11 people have a dislike complex

  • @c0gentman ikr????

  • I gave a college presentation on Anime and how anime is more than it seems. It shows you something that may be happening in your life at the moment and how its better to watch how to fix it on the screen than to experience the pain for yourself. And how the character's really create a bond with the viewer and that I would reccomend watching anime to anyone...and I got an A+ =] Ghost in a Shell was in the tops on my list

  • Russian, Latin and English - great mix from Origa! thx!

  • Sometimes I wish Ghost in the shell as a series never ended, it was so good, but I suppose that is the reason why, most good things never go on forever, you can only discover so many ideas and hypotheses about a subject even if you are with a team devoted to doing that. I remember it is as great anime that was full of intrigue and mystery, and maybe we grew so attached to the characters that we can't help but wonder what happened to them.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader :) im happy to see another person like you the way you talk makes me think that your a great thinker and i dont know if anyone else has noticed but i belive our group of people (anime/manga) are the best people because we all seem to have a greater understanding for things and we think about things more then other people also we all seem to be generaly nice people

  • @xatomicdoompie People may say anime isn't art, but it is, it is another form of expression and can make you think about all kinds of things. You can gain as much knowledge about yourself or others or the concepts presented in anime as the greatest art work and literature in the world. It's too bad many people who watch anime are misunderstood.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader XD exactly in my family im the only one that likes anime or anything else that has to do with japan( in fact my brother and my dad seem kind of racist against them i can understand my dad cause his dad fought in ww2 but not my brother) and ive always noticed when i was in school that the people that liked anime were sort of outcast i dont know if its still like that but i hope not.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader i used to concider anime cartoons that kids see. I was a fool, and i stopped saying such things when i saw animes like Ghost in the shell,Death note and Hellsing. Its an art, however not widely understood

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

I just started watching this show on Netflix beginning with episode 1. I really like it so far; it reminds me of Metal Gear Solid a little. So this series is over? How long has it been done?

  • @SolidSnake3131 The series ended sometime in 2008 sadly.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader "that is the reason why, most good things never go on forever" - Proof this is true: Naruto Vs Soul Eater

  • @KingLeonidaz Soul Eater's ending was bad though!

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

I doubt we have seen the last of the Major and Section 9.

If nothing else, in less than 20 years Ghost In The Shell will be real - the technology projections are right on target for our pace of development. Read Ray Kurzweil's The Singularity for more info.

  • thats not opening this is Inner universe

  • @zotoko1 seems you're confused. you're right that the song title is indeed "inner universe", but it's the opening to ghost in the shell, hence the title.

  • every time i listen to this...EVERY TIME...i get the chills. its such an amazing song that goes hand in hand with such an amazing series. i need to rewatch ghost in the shell. i fucking love it.

  • Awesome @ them hiring a Russian girl! ^^

  • what's the anime about?

  • @sonadowfangirl30869 I THINK futuristic police force hunting down terrorist in their own country of Tokyo. Everyone has had their brains cyberized to connect and do other stuff... been a while

  • @BlueTeamPlayer okay, thanks for telling me

  • One could have never imagined being able to match the level of power in the song from the original ghost in the shell, reincarnation.

but this song managed to do so, nearly surpassing. Nearly.

  • @RobCardIV You are referring to the movie correct?

  • favorite lyric

    Aeria Gloris

  • I never did understand this anime, but it was so fricken awesome! lmao

  • i love this show

  • Великолепно!

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS HER NOSE

  • awesome

  • is this Russian? Coz it reminds me on my language,Serbian...

  • @TheRustiestPunk I've been told it is a combination of languages. I suspect Russian and Japanese with English.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader ok,coz some parts are definitely in Russian (how do I know that??? Serbian and Russian are similar) :)

  • @HellGateFanticLeader Latinized russian with english

mana du vortes aeria gloris- its latin.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

Its Russian / Latin / English (and yes you would suspect japanese since it's an anime but no only the 3.

    as an example.

    Russian: Soboy ostat'sya dol'she...

Engslih: I am Calling Calling out!

    Latin : areia glories

  • @daylight18 You are correct sir!

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

    i don't think that's there is a russian.

It's similiar to russian, but it isn't russian.

    I may be wrong :)

  • @FumoffuFMP2 singer is russian, the lyrics that aren't latin or english have been translated by russian speakers to english from russian, and there's many more things out there that show that this is russian. it's russian.

  • @Vinco

    Thanks for explanation :)

  • @FumoffuFMP2 you are very wrong

  • @HellGateFanticLeader Yes it is Russian, English and Japanese. the singer "Origa" is a Russian singer based in Japan

  • @TheRustiestPunk It´s a combination of Russian, English and Latin.

  • @TheRustiestPunk

it is russian than there these english parts but i guess you figured that much

but im not sure what aeria gloris part is, maybe latin?

  • @TheRustiestPunk

it is russian. than there are these english parts but i guess you figured that much

but im not sure what that "aeria gloris" - part is, maybe latin?

  • @TheRustiestPunk more like thecrustiestcunt.

  • @Krypticflask why? -.-

  • That picture is perfectly drawn

  • beautiful!

  • 8 people just got shut by those robot bug things

    Use the description box please!

  • @HellGateFanticLeader Thanks, I kinda sped read everything

  • If you want to separate the differances between us & robots (or A.I's) I'm all for chatting up all kinds of points of veiw...I love this subject...having had watched alot of sci-fi & fantasy movies & televison....They allways seem to try to point out that inabling the robot with "emotional responce" makes them more human...if that were true are we kinda raping the sex bots? They don't have complete capasity to say "no"if you really like about it.(Cherry 2000...I great movie about this subject)

  • damn those eight noobs who don't like this

  • @This may or may not be contrary to the message of the show, but i believe that if we are not humans in the continuity, we are better. It just comes with a new set of problems is all

  • I like Origa. Nobody I know likes this kind of music... Sad...

  • what happened to this show it just disapeared after lik 10 episodes where i live

  • @DjSilver118 Ghost in the shell didn't air in America very much, and most people watch it on anime websites anyway. I can link you to a few if you want.

  • ghost in the shell is really the best anime out there.

theres a video i posted, says it all :]

  • Truly a beautiful song. This is part of why Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite anime series. One of the few where I sit through the opening and don't get irritated by the music.

  • Ghost in the Shell is an great anime. I want to know when it comes again in german TV

  • @apocberlin1984 again in german TV ?? it was on german tv realy ?? O.o ??

  • the guys who say they do not like the show are 10 year old kids. no! honestly. i hated the she when i saw it for the first time. the concept of the show is very deep. not something a pokemon, digimon fan can relate to

  • @rinkmeifucan i kno im late 2 your comment but 2 say a pokemon or digimon fan cant relate 2 this is a broad statement indeed, no offense but n my opinion thats a bad assumption 2 make

  • for you idiots out there she is japanese

  • Awesome song, awesome show.

  • the series rock and so does this song!!

  • whats the song called?

  • Inner universe.

  • Russian, Japanese, and English. It's an impressive mix.

  • like this song to

  • i don't like the show at all....but love this song!

  • Show: Horrible. Song: Marvelous.

    That is all.

  • To really under stand the GIG's u kinda need to watch both films aswell as the first episode. And possibly watch it twice

  • I don't like this show.

I'm not saying that to troll, I'm saying that to see if anyone can tell me--well, to put it bluntly, what all of the fuss is about.

  • dude you wont like it unless you start from ep one.

  • @Raymondxiwei

Well, what the anime expresses is the product of authors fancy imaginaton, intentional or not. But I agree with you, there's more to this anime/manga than meets the eye at first glance.

  • Thanks for the compliment :)

  • Ghost in the Shell is definitely revolutionary.

But what make it an epic anime/manga series is not the author's fancy imagination, nor the incredible technology or fancy fight scenes but what it tried to deeply express - the outcome of conflicts between human beings' sane, emotion, will and desire.

  • @raymondxiwei

I would have to agree tremendously; I would say that pacifism(or rather the understanding that human conflict is inevitably horrible) is definitely what the author was trying to convey, and I think a great job was done.

  • @raymondxiwei That's nothing revolutionary, but it is a good anime. It at least tries to be deep, meaningful, and full of deep philosophy. If nothing else, it's definitely ambitious!

  • @Transformers217

I disagreee. It's revolutionary and differrent than an average cliche anime. This one makes alot of sense and more real.

  • @CloudsofBliss No, it's just different from alot of animes. But it's revolutionary, or ground breaking. The themes and philosophy that it attempts to explore is nothing new within the medium of anime, or manga.

  • @Transformers217

True but none like this. This can be something out of real life. Ghost in the Shell had been around since late 1980's. Back then, hardly any anime wasn't revolutionary or ground breaking like Ghost in the Shell.

  • @CloudsofBliss Yes, there are a good portion of animes that explore the philosophy and psychological themes of "Ghost in the Shell." And I think you're talking about the manga, not the anime. The anime film came out in 1995, and the series came out in the early 2000's, with a sequel premiering back in 2004.

  • @raymondxiwei

Indeed. What you just did there is an accurate description of this anime.

But I would also add that this anime is believable in it's deep and complex cyber-geopolitical context.

The philosophical reflections made by this anime are also very deep and lift questions about what makes us human. Is it our body? Our flesh? Our soul? Our emotions? Our mind? Our brain? Or is it rather our capacity to reason and make decisions with our conscience?

  • @Jpcristel Say for example a persons humanity includes not killing people. If they need to kill someone to protect others since this person is a threat to society does that mean this person has lost their humanity? If almost your entire body is replaced yet you keep your mind, your morals, and your thoughts. Have you lost your humanity? No. You would only think you have lost your humanity if that is what you have been taught to think. Sometimes the inhuman can be the be the most human.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

That's an interesting point of view. Regardless. if a human kills or not for X or Y reason, we remain a complex array of multiple personalities, more or less shaped by the society we live in. Our desire to kill or not for a reason or not, as you mentionned, might be just an example of our high or almost inexistant predisposition to kill, enticed more or less by our education and our personal experiences.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

The point you tried to bring here is : Is our capacity to make others think and behave as we do want them to, a part of humanity's unique characteristics as a race?

That might be true, although I am no specialist or philosopher at all.

The other question lifted by GitS is also our place as humans in a World where technological advances is rapidly closing the rift between technology and biology, not to mention the mutation of communication throught these changes.

  • @HellGateFanticLeader

The creators of GitS show clearly that a great proportion of pure biological beings in the society they depict are almost rejected and feel out of place in a World where everything is done throught cyber-brains and cyber-net arrays. Excepted for accidents, people reemplace their body parts just because cybernetic ones are more effective and eventually, more durable and replacable.

Isn't that turning us from a part of what makes us living beings? Our flesh? Our body?

  • @Jpcristel

No what makes you a living being is a sense of self self awareness and all that. If you made a machine to do all those things it is then alive. So made of machine or not the mind is what makes you alive.

  • @raymondxiwei

So many philosophical questions are exposed to us in this anime. Many philosophers throught history have thought about these questions and we are far from being the first ones to think about them.

However, by going away from the typical anime cliches and by creating a believable cyber-punk geopolitical context, Ghost in the Shell is raising the bar to another level. To a level where we can entertain ourselves, by asking ourselves questions about our very nature as humans.

  • @raymondxiwei

One of the most interesting questions shown in Ghost in the Shell is : Is our growing link with technology progressively taking away a part of our ''humanity''?

  • @Jpcristel

What is humanity's place in a world where the lines between man and machine are becoming increasingly blurred? A very good issue in my opinion.

  • @raymondxiwei The Human will is the strongest element of our being

  • Ghost in the Shell is an amazing anime if you understand the concepts it creates.

  • amazing song!

  • Motoko FTW :D

  • the lady that sings this song is like Japanese. but she is a military brat and she lived in russia its weird.I don't fully understand.

  • She is russian. U idiot

  • That is a very broad comment, who are you responding to?

  • ADMIRAL24761 sorry lol

  • @daughteroffilth umm, the song is in latin, english, japanes, and russian (if im not mistaken) and the composer is japanese (yoko kano?)

  • the anime is sooooooo confusing. it's hard to understand really. but it is pretty great. :D i love this song !

  • It will be easy to understand if you watch it more or if you get older.

  • one of the best anime!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • Inner universe.

  • I am Russian myself and to tell you the truth its part Russian and part English ... you can find it on yahoo answers if you google it :-)

  • huh the Aeria sounds more like Italiano or Español than Latin but the gloris more like glorious than gloriosa

  • Aeria gloris= heavenly glory

  • I just can't stop listening to this. It's been stuck in my head for weeks.

  • YEa some of the lyrics are wrroong

  • wow havent heard this song in years! wow

  • What language is this?

  • I was told it was in Russian,Japanese, and English.

If I'm forgetting any of them please correct me.

  • Oh, but which one is this version of the song?

  • The song is a combination of all those languages.

  • OH! Thanks!

  • I'm not absolutely certain, but I read somewhere the languages are Slavic(Russian for the most part), English, and broken Latin.

Aeria Gloris isn't actually Latin. it resembles it but the words aren't right. Hence it being 'broken'

This is all what I saw. not sure how much is right.

  • Up to 1.08 it is Russian, then English with some Russian thrown in. I'm not sure if there is any Japanese, to be honest.

  • That's what I thought.

  • Well it IS a Japanese anime...like most anime of today. They might as well have thrown in some Japanese.

  • I guess they found it more exotic to use Russian and Latin. Or maybe the music director was inspired by something Russian, you never know.

  • yed think

  • such a beautiful song :)
