Everytime you see videos about WW2. Whether its Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, Pearl Harbor or any other WW2 documentary. You always have heated arguments about who did more to win the war? The US or the Soviets and its such a petty argument. The real unfortunate thing about the whole thing is that the US and the Soviet Union couldn't get along after the fact. Imagine if they had good relations? That's an alliance that would led both to world peace and probably world fear.

there is a difference between watching a vid of people being killed, and a vid paying homage to a couple of great war movies, that educate people a bit about an important part of our recent history that they dont seem to teach enough at school.

The Film is an excellent depiction of the Battle of Stalingrad from the viewpoint of one of the USSR's most renowned snipers. However, many feel the film dramatizes the struggle for Stalingrad. Personally I would not get the film.
Personally I consider it to be quite boring, since not much actually happens, and to spice it up they threw in an inconsequential love story which in some ways makes it drag even more.
The only interesting part is the battle scene at the beginning, which still isn't that good; it's neither epic nor realistic, and it's basically several minutes of obscenely exaggerated anti-soviet propoganda presented unrealistically in the context of 9/20/42 anyhow.
Note, in case that didn't tag to the post I was replying to, I was refering to Enemy at the Gates, not this youtube movie.
Anyhow, the idea of massive charges down a large street into machine gun positions is laughable for late september; I would imagine that Chuikov would've had the officers shot.
enemy at the gates was spoiled by the stupid pointless love story that ran through it. it was based on a true story, for example the russian sniper was a real person but nobody is quite sure about the german sniper. Zaitsev (russian sniper) wrote a book about his time in stalingrad and the duel he had with a very talented germen sniper (depicted in movie). And just to let u know it was the russians who apparantly had the finest snipers, most of whom had hunted from childhood.
Becuz, Stalin SPECIFICALLY said not a step back. What he means is, he thinks that if HIS men retreat, they are deserting there country, and betraying him. So that's why they shoot there own soldiers. PRetty Mean HUH?

I can't believe I can spell better....anywho, age doesn't really matter on some occasions, like this. Think of Grand Theft Auto, its for Mature and Adult players, but do kids still play it? Yes. And ever thought about the fact that if a kid doesn't watch these kinds of movies, he might one day grabbed a gun and accidently shoot himself? HMM?

ya i was shoot in the thigh in iraq buddy i faced death and survived. i was there and got shipped back after we took falusha then got shipped back after we lost it and got shoot in the thigh so shut the fuck up dont message back because im not responding
