Unboxing really do help when your shopping as well. First impressions are really important. Nothing is worst than unboxing something with, say... bad packaging. Watching other people un box a product is a good way to get those key impressions without actually having to jump in the deep end and making an expensive purchase.

I disagree. When I bought my new MacBook Pro and iPad I still watched unboxings while I waited for it to be shipped. I also watch allot of unboxings of products I can easily afford. I think people like watching them because people just love looking at shiny new toys.
