What it seems Sadam was attempting was what is called diplomacy. Honorable diplomacy that America has not practiced for decades. The white house dismissed his request as 'not serious'. Not serious to whom? Not serious in which way? Most likely not serious in the way that, America had the plans for Iraq for 15 years, as well as forging facts and evidence they were ready to go to war, and it wouldn't have mattered what Sadam did, he would have been invaded. Diplomacy and America are seperated.

He was gaming the US, and putting on a show of peace in Iraq. His only intention was to buy time to recoup his military, and finish his WMD research.

Your four reasons for going to war are the weakest I've ever heard. You're weaker in reasoning skills than the Bush administration was. Who cares if we were flying planes over Iraq? When faced with an embargo, you'll do whatever you can to make money. The sanctions that we imposed were immoral on OUR parts and the suicide bombers? Did they kill Americans? I would say that the most general problem with not only American foreign policy, but the public in general is a general oversimplification of very complex issues. The United States entered on what I believe was deliberately falsified or manipulated intelligence. Almost certainly Saddam was a monster, I point mostly to the 100,000 dead in the Al-Anfar Genocide. You seem to be under the impression that unless you make a specific order to kill an innocent person, then all killings of innocent people is acceptable.
Of course Bush doesn't talk about "killing innocent people"....instead his country imposes sanctions which results in hundreds of thousands of innocent ppl dead, then an invasion in which the vast majority of victims are civilians. Motivation means nothing to a dead child. Innocent ppl don't choose who kills them, politicians do.

iraq made a lot of peace offers to america in the months before invasion, including oil rights, offering to hold free elections which could be monitored, allowing us troops and special forces over the border to look for the WMDs. all of these were rejected outright by the white house. something tells me they'd act differently if they knew how bad the war would go.
