What's wrong with the idea of a nation? It protects (generally that is; I know that there are SOME exceptions) it's people, secures them with rights, allows for intellectual advancement, and people would be fighting significantly more without them. And shut up about how the USA sucks; it's got it's problems, but it's better than 98% of every other country.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of a nation but there is something wrong with the state of ours. People are critical of the US because of the disregard for our rights and laws by the ruling elite whose sole motivation is profit, not our well-being. Sure there is no hunger, war in the US and we all enjoy a comfy existence but that does not mean that things are going as they should. The level of corruption in the government and corporate world is staggering and MUST be reversed.

However, most people love their country even if it doesn't deserve it (for instance, the USA today. Two words: Patriot Act). And when people love their country unconditionally, then that is a very powerful tool for propagandists to work with, and it doesn't really serve any other purpose.
