  • I Now like MIyazaki more than Bluth <,3

  • Well, the interviewer just didn't care much, I bet he hadn't watch the movies.

  • I love them 2!! But If I had to pick one, I'd surelly choose Miyazaki!!

  • hayao miyazaki es sin duda el mejor contador

    de animaciones

  • So the cgi parts in Princess Mononoke are due to John Lasseter? lol

  • Miyazaki is like the Willy Wonka of anime. He's mysterious, but wonderful at what he does.

  • John Lasseter is a great speaker

  • @hanluy1215 I am convinced he could sell anything. The fact that he's always championing Miyazaki films is basically the best thing ever.

  • Miyazaki san is making a new movie his first sequal to a movie ever in 2012!!! :D

  • the interviewer doesn't give a crap. dick.

  • @themodernage Mhm even if I didn't like Miyazaki's movies I still wouldn't act like a dick about it.

  • Thanks a lot for this.

  • now i know why there's a Totoro plush doll in toy story 3 :D

  • this is great

  • I remember this series of films on Turner...also, is that Ben from the Young Turks?

  • @Pilaf1984 when was it on tcm??

  • friends with Hayao Miyazaki, redefined animation, head of a flawless movie studio which is unheard of, which chief investor is steve jobs, mentored by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson.. Jeez I couldnt be more envious of him, seems like such a nice guy too

  • John Lasseter is one of the coolest guys in the animation business. Walt Disney would be very proud of him.

  • hate how the interviewer doens,t understand shit he,s like the girl that inspired miyazaki

  • Comment removed

  • Holy, shit. I just realized that Totoro is in Toy Story 3. I'm ashamed

  • Miyazaki-sama's the Walt Disney of Japan

  • @sosha20 You got that right!

  • TCM's airing of Castle of Cagliostro was my first exposure to Miyazaki, It's affected me a lot, the scene that Otsuka clearly animated where Lupin is leaping over the rooftops was astonishing, and I'd never seen a film that was structured like that.

I was suprised in the best possible way.

  • Thank you so much for every one of your millions of incredibly imaginative drawings, Miyazaki Sama!

  • love it!!

  • I thought Nausicaa in the valley of the wind was his first film. Oh well, it doesn't matter. All of his work is off the hook.

  • @shakthemighty

I think Nausicaä was his first independent work, as Lupin III is a fixed franchise not in his hands, to which he was only hired to make a film for.

  • this is a real treat. Thanks for posting this.

  • @shakthemighty You're welcome!

  • wow i only need 2 more movies now i need naucicaa and earthsea his movies are so cool

  • earthsea is actually by his son

  • lol earthsea?! u gotta be kiddin me right?! sorry i dont mean to offend u or anything but earthsea is a horrible horrible movie. very bad. and yes it's miyazaki's son's debut movie and it flopped, badly. it was actually so bad to the point where the author of the actual book tried to sue him. i dunno if it went through or not. but earthsea was a horrible movie.

  • @barbourino09 Naucicaa is an amazing movie if I remember correctly it was the hardest movie for him to make.

  • i love this guy's work ive tryed my hardest to get all his movies but only got 2 of them :(

  • @GreatAmericanGamer I got 5. 4 of them I bough in Best Buy.

  • I LOOVEE the fact that Miyazaki Doesn't use Computer animation. Hand Drawn Goodness!

  • @xxmexlissxuhxx Because he doesen't like to use it plus computer animation takes a lot longer then hand drawn animation to create.

  • @xxmexlissxuhxx Spirited Away and Mononoke Hime and Howl all use CGI

  • @hanluy1215 They use it, but don't abuse it.
