We need more artists in all genres of music making songs like these, especially in hip-hop. I think the ending pretty much sums up why there aren't many rappers like Franti and Chuck D on mainstream labels but yet we have a million 50 cent clones on the shelves and our TV screens.

so yes you bring up an excellent question. i'd have to say both though, because we are responsible for what WE do. BUT, i think it's more the media that's guilty. TVs actually do hypnotize you. and every form of media influences you. it's all propaganda. the media is so convincing that people actually think Obama will change everything. one fucking man is gonna change the world. i feel that these next four years are going to decide if we enter and age of enlightenment or an age of darkness.

well that's an excellent point. but honestly, I BELIEVE, this is just my opinion i'm not belittling you, that if the media wasn't so powerful people would be different. the problem is that most people do not have the opportunity to think for themselves. a lot of children are raised by dumbed down parents and they grow up with the TV. the western world doesn't know another way. we're scared to travel, scared to be different, scared of everything because of the media. it's just so fucking hard.
