They need their long tail hair to protect themselves from flies. Please don't give them steroids. All they need is lots of love. Please no offense. I love horses, they are very kindhearted animals.
@vanseventy there the cleats for the athletes... they take them off when they are not competing...if it hurt them they wouldn't pull as much hence defeating the point
I love draft horses, but I think I just might love their tack even more. I don't think anything could possibly look better on a horse. Gorgeous leather-work.

The shoes have calkins on them for grip.

They are called cleets they are like that so whrn the horses are pulling they can get traction and really dig into the ground.

I don't do heavy pulling with my horses. but we have rubber shoes for the pavement so they don't slip.. same i guess in a way..
