  • Go to 1:40 to skip long intro!

  • this comment is for the people who respect this music and dancing lets give these young ladies the respect that they deserve. heritage at its best

  • I understand why the dresses were changed but I miss these... they had such great stage presence.

  • their new outfits are waaaaay better than these.

  • To eliminate the talking--download Adobe Media Player (free). Click on and move up the play button to approximately 1:38 and let it run from there. Download to the AMP. This will give you the video without the intro. You may have to experiment a little. The dancing, the fabulous wigs, and the music are great!!! Thank god for Irish hair, real or otherwise. Siamsa (merriment).

From San Carlos on the sunny California coast.

  • wow, i love the dance. i am mexican and love the different varieties of dances around the world. good job

  • Too much talking xDD But lovely dancing!!

  • What wonderful choreography and what wonderful dancers! Love the music, the costumes and the joy of the young ladies. A true pleasure to watch again and again!

  • Go to the 1:40 :))

I love this... I can´t to do something else.

  • watching the senior team at Oireachtas was amazing! I mean I'm not happy they beat us but they deserved it. And I also believe they should've gotten first place. I mean yeah Trinity's really good (I wish I could dance like some of them) but if I have to see The Dawn one more time I think I might be able to do it in my sleep...

  • Loved this! Really good choreography! Well done girls!

  • omg im sorry but the girls at 1:02 has the biggest wig i have ever seen, it is really not nice she should get one that suits her, thats what i hate about wigs these days, the rest is ok tho

  • This was a really fun piece, I quite liked it.

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!! AND FOR ALL THOSE WHO SAY IT IS NOT... YOUR WRONG... THESE GIRLS HAVE GOT TALENT AND UR JUST JEALOUS :p

  • u mightve just made my day lol

  • omg, thank you so much. i totally agree. people keep saying what a "fantastic performance" this is. nobody's going to argue that these girls are good dancers, but this choreography is the most boring thing i've ever seen. there's nothing interesting or exciting about it. this looks like something my friends and i would make up b/c we're bored, not a competition choreography.

  • @gillmg

    ummm you shouldnt be talking..

trinity had to buy there choreography when cashel actually made up their own.

plus it was their first time ever performing it and since then theyve added so many new changes.

and its not boring.. watching the dawn 20 years in a row is boring.

and obviously thats what the judges thought this pass oireachtas cause CASHEL WON PERFORMING THIS DANCE.

  • @gillmg judging by the massive amount of comments you have left on this video, it seems like you have a little too much time on your hands. so, instead of bashing other people's work (without a legitimate reason, other than being a bully) i have a challenge.

if you think this choreography is boring, and looks like something that you would create when bored, why don't you create your own choreography, and post it on youtube! surely it would be much better than cashel's "fantastic performance".

  • @bped93 everybody has things to say and they have a right. now some stuff is rude but everybody has an opinion.

  • @rubegoldbergful this is totally true, and i agree with you 100%. but the girl was doing nothing more than bashing people. so i had to say something.

  • What an absolutely fantastic performance :0) I really enjoyed watching and was saddened to see so many negative comments. I can only imagine the time and energy that was put into perfecting this fabulous routine! Well done girls you did a great job, i did not see one person out of time :0)

  • Do anyone know the name of the first song?

If anyone know it please send an PM or write here!

    Thank you!

  • It's all one song... It's Siamsa from Lord of the Dance. It's a Reel/Light Jig combo. :)

  • Very nice! it's amazing to see such a good choreography with such young girls!

And, yes, some moves are similar to 'Trinity's,' but i have never seen a choreography without some moves that are. "The Dawn" was one of the very first manifestations of modern choreography, so it's no surprise that every one since has a slight hint of Dawn flavor!

  • I think people need to realize that just because a school does a certain move, it does not mean that they "own" this move. Cashel would not steal Trinity's choreography. The moves may look similar, but anyone who has examined them would see that they are indeed different.

  • I definitely remember this from somewhere because the music sounds so familiar... i must have seen it at the oireachtas

  • i believe its also from lord of the dance

  • My teacher has a lot of the music that you guys use too! We used this music @ the St. Paddy's Day shows.

  • Aaah yes, I remember seeing this dance live. These kids are great!

  • wow you guys are GREAT!

  • OMG these girls are brill and so are there lines my teacher is always tryin to get us to get our lines straighter LOL

  • are they going to worlds 2009?

  • can somebody tell me what is the name of the FIRST song?

VERY GOOD, they are really pro!

  • other than the move at 2:18 and the ending stance which are from the dawn u guys did look good!

i also like that circle at like 4:50 wer u clap and open thats cool

  • ik, now almost all of the schools at the midwest oireachtas 08, used some type of move fromt he dawn.

  • haha i know lol

ive been on 3 different dawn teams and the red branch this year so i pick out even the littlest moves ahaha

  • what I don't understand is why do so many schools pick out that particular thing at 2:18, I mean that is obviously taken from the dawn, and kind of weird anyways... It just seems like there are much cooler, less obvious things that could be taken from that choreography

  • its weird ya but it looks really cool wen done well so thats why other school did it...like 3 diff schools did it at O last year... we used to get mad wen other schools we competed against did our moves but now we just have fun finding them and comparing them to ours

  • Neither of the dance moves are from Dawn. Cashel has actually been using those particular moves for many years; before Dawn.

  • oh really?? cuz the dawn was choreographed about 20 years ago.. slightly different versions but those moves were originally in there.. and obviously theyre not the exact same but the idea of them was taken from the dawn.... and ya they my not be "our" moves but theyre from our dance

  • 2:18 is totally from the dawn. why would you put something in your "original" choreography that's verbatim from another school's choreography? and don't say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. that's bs.

  • what age group?

  • why does she talk for so long \!!!

  • It is part of a performance of this type, choreography. The announcer explains the theme/story behind the dance to help the audience understand it.

  • Yup 2nd place.

  • Did this just go to nationals?
