Are gang bangers(who have committed murders) serial killers, or hitmen or any other killer for hire serial killers? If not, what is the difference? Just curious.

Gangbangers,hitmen and most other killers don´t kill for the joy of it.

Gangbangers do it to define and defend "their turf",their gangs usually sells drugs so they don´t want any competitor in "their" territories,to them it´s economic war. Hitmen kill for money, to them it´s just a job.Serial killers kill for the fun,joy and the thrill of it. They try to compensate their personal deficits by gaining the ultimate control above others,they play god,they get sexually arroused by it.

I give the first dislike to the video because I sense some kind of wicked admiration in the intonation of the speaker and I also disagree with the thesis that serial killers are extraordenary clever. I find ppl willing to take another's life mentally limited with respect to not acknowledging other ppl's freedom and their right to exist and therefore stupid. I also do hate how some ppl are fond of serial killers; no respect for them as well!

@garganeo But serial killers ARE clever, that's why they're called serial killers. They don't just get away with one murder, they get away with several before the killing impulse eventually leads them to be caught. Acknowledging the strength and danger of the enemy doesn't mean you admire it, it means you understand it. Many serial killers are psychopathic, highly intelligent, and crafty in how they commit their murders and how they get away with it. That's not a compliment, that's a fact.

@Nelsonhojax15 Not all serial killers are particularly clever, they get away with it usually due to mistakes made by the police, or because they pick people to attack that nobody cares about or nobody will believe or take seriously if they escape.

Serial killers often get huge egos because of their unwavering belief that the police either suck at their jobs or don't have the man-power or time to catch them. There is actually a large number of serial killers who have never been caught, and they are the smartest.

@Nelsonhojax15 There was one serial killer - i dont remember his name atm - who wasnt that smart, like a normal person. i think his IQ was 82, but yea - they're smart at what they do. they know how not to get cuaght and how to do this and that, but normally - they might not be that clever..

@Nelsonhojax15 serial killers are defined as such because they have murdered 2/3 or more people - not because they are clever. the media actually exaggerates the notion of psychopathic killers as highly intelligent even though in reality this is not actually the case. its a very nice thought and it definitely adds to the drama and entertainment factor. just because someone is a psychopath doesn't mean they are abnormally intelligent. just thought i should point that out.

@DrDunne1 I think I should explain my earlier statement. Many serial killers are psychopaths. A psychopath is often very intelligent, not in the academic sense since they are too lazy and narcissistic to apply themselves, but in a manipulating judge of human character. They are often very good at making people trust or believe them, charming their way into murder. Ted Bundy would be a good example of what I picture when I say intelligent serial killer. But you're right, they're not all smart.

@garganeo They r not extraordenary clever because they decided 2 brutaly take someones life, but because of the way they did it, which allowed them not 2 get caught. Please don't confuse ppl with healthy curiosity about things they don't understand, even if those things may b gruesome with those with various mental problems whose fascination with things like these goes a step 2 far. lf there weren't for ppl whose curiosity is proveked by this subject we wouldn't have anyone to dill with it.

This guy is not a serial killer. He is a murdering rapist. A real hunter stalks powerful and strong people/prey. Most of these guys go after the weak and defenseless. Why because they are cowards. Imagine a new kind of serial killer, a real serial killer that goes after evil strong and powerful people. That would be a first and certainly would make them number one in the world of psychology because this new specimen has not been profiled yet.

@Mycterizian while I do agree these killers go after weaker prey lets not over machismo hunters. hunters always put themselves at the advantage either through technology,out strategising or a combonation of the two. you make it sound like people hunt bears with only a rambo knife. yes there is an element of danger in hunting certain types of prey such as tigers but they don't do it tarzan style.

@coolrog7564 I'd say there is a new profile of someone who is highly intelligent and educated, very physically fit, an expert in self defense and weapons, as well as has elite attributes in communication by being able to blend into any culture or group and manipulate them into any trap he sets. Believe me when I tell you this person exists. Hunting powerful things when you have prepared for the worst these powerful people exhibit and beating them is very exhilarating.

@Mycterizian who has beaten who in this scenario you're presenting the hunter or the hunted ? your first comment hinted at a contest of more equal terms of facing an opponent who might possibly beat you. using deception to trap someone or something is trickery or stratedgy as i said in my first comment. just issue a challenge of open combat to anyone who will accept if you're looking to prove your might and bravery otherwise you're just a clever skunk.
