@JaxRL Both the green and the purple corn came out of the same bag and is supposed to be the same thing. It's from HighMowingSeeds. Organic Painted Mountain Flour Corn - Colorful Montana mountain corn. A strain of Mandan Indian corn to be exceedingly hardy and early. Ultimate "survival food". Multi-color kernels vary from ear to ear. Moderate sized ears are 6-7” and are good for both decoration and milling. Recommended for flour due to its soft starchy kernels that are easy to grind
Your corn is really doing great, So far my beans and my "volunteer" squash/pumpkins are dwarfing my corn, I'll do another video and though I really wanted to try a three sisters garden it was actually supposed to just be corn with some beans around the edges for extra nitrogen the pumpkins/squash were a gift from our chickens ;) ((manure/compost)) Hopefully you can keep the raccoon out!
@knyquol Don't know how the raccoons will do. One came up on the deck last night and got the dog and cat in an uproar. For now they are more interested in the cat food than the corn. I hope they keep that frame of mind. hahaha
@EastTennesseePrepper Silk. Yeah. That's the stuff. What an idiot! I'd forget my name if it wasn't on my driver's license.
Really, I have no idea what's growing in my compost pile. It could be anything. It's doing so well I'm really looking forward to a crop of some sort from it.
That purple corn is cool! Its looking like a fun and interesting experiment.
