  • this has to be one of my favorite songs by Richard Marx

  • The part where he starts playing the saxophone gives me more pleasure than fuck

  • i love

  • Subtle and sexy tune. richard's a great song writer and singer!

  • and the background..the best ever....rip luther....i play your music every day..

  • @1202dimi agreed!! talk about not forgeting where you come from. luther gave richard some of his first background vocal gigs and luther returned the favor on his 3rd album. they worked together until luther's

last; co-writing and co-producing "dance with my father". now that's friendship. ;-)

  • Richard Marx has a very attractive and soothing voice :)

  • This Is A Song I Never Got Tired Of Hearing Back In The Day!!!

  • So damn soulful!! LOVE!!

  • This is my song for Pete. I miss the 90s.

  • Love this strong passion in this song and in the voice! Fantastic! Perfect song for erotic dreams...

  • 4:14 on rocks me like a cradle...

  • I know why I keep coming back! Makes me tingly! Thanks Richard!

  • Extra Special Thank you to LUTHER! You are greatly missed!

  • This is my favorite song in the world Richard Marx truly out did himself in this song Luther Vandross in background vocals and Fourplay on the instruments. He should have gotten a Grammy for this song.

  • @26sayers Fourplay huh? wow didnt know that. guess i liked them before i liked them lol

  • Gets harder each time, you know...

  • I almost forgot this wonderfull song, which I sincerely considered being some of the very best from my youth. Happy to find it again ;0) Marx and Luther W - awesome

  • I DON'T KNOW WHY i KEEP COMING BACK TO U i GUESS i LIKE BAD BOYS

    married.......Breckenridge,Tx

  • This is for the bad boy I keep coming back to........and you know who u are? Breckenridge,Tx

  • This is my favorite Richard Marx song handsdown. His voice with Luther in the background. I don't think it can get better than that. Pretty jazzy. And that sax solo is out of this wourld

  • I know what you mean Richard. I feel the same way about this song. Everytime I log in, I just keep coming back here. ;~;

  • can anybody tell what is the name of the girl who is in this video?

  • @blackkings89 Any name you want! It's a fantasy video!

  • Great rhythm guitar, bass & percussion, sensual lyrics and passionate vocals by Marx & Luther Vandross. Just doesn't get any better than this song.

  • Heard Richard's beautiful hauting song a thousand times thinkin bout you Marie!

  • Hear Richard's beautiful hauting song a thousand times thinkin bout you Marie!

  • Richard, where are you brother? You are needed in this vacuum of empty space of people who are under the impression that they are truly talented. I am just saying...You're music still means so much to me.

  • ---- Watch WHAM's Everything She Wants video and you can see some of the George Michael body movements and intense staring and snapping away from the camera after a line and more. George gets too little attention for his dramatic visuals for video and way too much attention for the irrelevant stuff. Michael was a master of video art and it carries over to compelling must watch video by Marx here.

  • i wonder who has been in the situation of this song?

  • Nathan East from Fourplay is playing bass, and backing vocal's by Luther Vandross. This album is including a lot of great session players. Steve Lukather on "Playing with Fire" and "Streets of Pain," Marcus Miller on "Love Unemotional," Jeff Porcaro on "Superstar" and "Chains Around My Heart," Tommy Lee on "Streets of Pain," Billy Joel on "I Get No Sleep", and Nathan East on this track, "Take This Heart" and "Your World." When this one was released, I bought an LP and I still have it. :-)

  • @azuri10 You're right. This is an AWESOME album. Richard is an incredible writer and arranger. In my opinion, this album shows the most diversity and greatest talent.

  • @azuri10 You're right. This is an AWESOME album. Richard is an incredible writer and arranger. In my opinion, this album shows the most diversity and greatest talent. And "Your World" still gives me goosebumps!

  • k lindaaaaaaaaaaa

  • k lindaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I don't know why, I keep coming back to you, babe...

  • That bridge vocal straight into the sax break at 3:35 with the Chicago skyline still just kills me, even after almost 20 years.

  • @mgfaxlad I agree, it's beautiful, gave me chills and goose-bumps when it came out and I first saw it on MTV and Vh1, and that's why I remembered it and looked it up again... It would be great if they would do the footage over again of Chicago's skyline since there are so many more beautiful and taller buildings built in the last 20 years... It would be more amazing!

  • I love Luther Vandross in this song! Such a great talent, we lost him too soon.

  • how does this song only have 110 k views?

WTF?????????? should be 110 million. Terrific song from a terrific artist.

  • @BIGDADDYF50 You are SO right!!! So haunting, especially Luther's backup!!1

  • this is a really cool song!!

  • No wonder i like this so much. It's looks like Nathan East is playing on it because he is also in the video.

  • beautiful. thankyou

    you've got a way...

  • temazo

  • Luther Vandross is exceptional as background, but the arrangement itself (by Richard Marx) is superb. The sax solo brings it all home. Richard Marx is a talented man - and this is my favorite proof of that to date.

  • I remember cook-outs back in BK with my fellow "new adult" friends.....just chilling out sipping on Bartles & James coolers, LI iced teas, and Jamaican rum mixed drinks. The guys in the clique would sit back and wait for the ladies to cook up the grub. And everyone in our clique was good looking. hahahahaha We were grown and sexy even as 21/22/23 year olds. Good memories..... :0)

  • obsesive hunger ! hahaha

    classic

  • I was knocked out by this song and video when it came out....describes that deep, obsessive hunger I had for someone I loved. Thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks for this video

  • a very talented artist! i saw him in 1994 in columbia, md! what an awesome show!

  • you know, i cant stand richard's first couple of albums, but here he started to mature. this song is growing on me.

  • great song

  • Man I like this song, nice video, would like to see a live version

  • Thanks for placing this onto Youtube

  • Play bck to back 'Justify my love' by Madonna, 'Ordinary love' by Sade and this song and switch off the lights :)

  • @TheMoDonKey you know Richard Marx did a cover of Ordinary Love on his Sundown album. its even better than Sade's.

  • IMO...the best song Richard Marx has ever done!

Great video too...raw passion and emotion..

Luther sounds great on background vocals too....you can tell that he freestyles it a little. :-)

    Sensual and raw! Love it...

  • @rachellogan111 of course! Luther was a master at improvisation and making a "previously sung" song his very own. RIP Mr. Vandross. The loss is still great!!

  • bwgary who is in the background the second verse?

  • luther vandross

  • ding ding ding!!!

  • and the two of them did!!!!

  • They need to give credit to Donny Hathaway's "The Ghetto" because that's where the rift was taken from.

  • I am currently obsessed with this song. the beginning is stupendous... I listen to this on my iPhone and it just absolutely is nitroglycerin to my ears.

  • i can relate to this song.

  • this song is so mellow yet so deep..love it

  • Rare talent.

  • What a brilliant song and video

  • He stole & married the girl I had a crush

on from the movie staying alive. BKA saturday night fever part II. Since he kick-it

    w/Luther.....it's cool!!

  • are you talking about the same woman that played on Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze.the one that had the abortion on the movie Dirty Dancing is married to Richard Marx.

  • No. That was Jennifer Grey. Richard is

married to an actress/singer named Cynthia Rhodes who plays John Travolta

girlfriend in the movie: "Stayin Alive" which

became the sequel to "Sat Night Fever"!!

  • i wasn't talking about Jennifer Grey.i was talking about the blonde that was Patrick Swayze's partner that got the abortion.I didn't know Richard Marx's wife was in stayin alive and the sequel sat night fever.

  • How the bass plays, thats the ambient. great song, feels like...

  • @Tinchotaddei thats nathan east he,s played with all the greats, clapton, micheal jackson, george benson, and he,s part of jazz supergroup fourplay with lee ritenour, bob james and harvey mason.except that ritenour is no longer a member.the great larry carlton has replaced him though they are equally terrific!

  • Great song that sums up unhealthy crazy addictive love. Yep they always come back

  • i love this song.i can relate to this song.

  • Richard Marx said on Australian radio that when recording the song he tried to sing it the way he thought John Farnham would sing it. Obviously a big fan of John Farnham. Great song from a great talent.

  • he is so amazing and so gorgeous that hair omg very David Cassidy sexy mmm

  • This is "All American'' rock music, love it!

  • @alison528 I absolutely agree. One of my favorite songs of all time!

  • damn i was looking for this song, i love it the first time i heard it. but tonight i got it. its goes straight to my collection

  • That sax break at 3:35 with the skyline shot of Chicago still gives me goosebumps after many years.

  • to think i was 20 when this came out.i wish i was still built like i was when i was 20

  • so what is stopping you? Do some cardio 30 min 3 or 4 times a week and you will get your figure back! Do it for yourself girl!!!! I did!!!!!

  • LOL is that all it takes. 30 minutes 3-4x a week. You know what's funny is that I also wish I had my 20 year old body back. But at 20 I hated my body. LOL Now that I think back, I had a banging body. I use to stop traffic. LOL I guess that's why I didn't like it. Too much attention. Ok off to hula hoop for an hour.

  • To this day, this song still makes me tremble. Richard sounds so sexy and hot.

  • I strongly agree with you there!!!

  • Rush Street - Chicago IL USA !!!!

  • I remember hereing this song playing on the radio while I was getting ready for school in the morning... I was in

second grade at the time when this came out on radio sweet ass song & the memberies & still like it to day... Heck & Im a black guy... tite as hell!!!!!

  • 0:19 to 0:23...so sensual...:)

  • still go by what i said a month ago. SUPERB.

  • This is another gem by Richard Marx, and it's great that Luther is in it. I like Luther Vandross. I can understand this song. It's kind of like when you feel like you're bewitched when you care about a certain someone, and the person drives you nuts, and somehow that person does something to you. LOL It's kind of a bluesy tune..... Wow.....

  • Wow, I always thought the same, you hit it right on the spot with your interpretation. Lyrics make me say' been there done that'

  • And just don't do it again!!! That's the main thing. Keep your cards close to you and also learn to bluff and be a man about stuff:) That's what i say....

  • So true-!

  • this is one of my favorite songs by Richard Marx

  • The late Luther Vandross did back up on this song during the height of his career.

  • great song, dont hear from him much anymore guess he made his money and got out

  • love this song.reminds me of........... lol i better not say anything else

  • It's a rumba, sex in public with your clothes on. I wish Adam Lambert would sing this song on American Idol. He'd have the Smut Police all over us, but by then I would have disolved, so who cares. ;-)

  • This song is a classic & one of the smoothest & sexiest songs of all time. It had great rhythm guitar, bass, drums, a tremendous sax solo & last but not least, the amazing Luther Vandross on background vocals. What more could you ask for in a song?

  • this song is one of the sexiest i have ever heard =P

  • I have always loved the shit out of the sax solo! It rocks my world.

  • No one has mentioned that Richard Marx wrote Luther Vandross last hit single DANCE WITH MY FATHER ... if you listen you can hear the similarities between these two songs. I LOVED this video and Richard Marx for years. With Luther Vandross on background vocals and Nathan East on guitar you cna't go wrong.

  • he co worte it with luther and was the co producer he also co wrote and co produced luther smash hit this christmas from his christmas recoard. richard wrote and produced this promise you for justin timberlake group

  • That's Luther Vandross on the backing vocals in the song's last minute. One of the all-time greatest!

  • this song is soo sensuous...picture yourself making sweet nasty love to someone that you deeply lust for desireably...alone with them in the dark surounded by the dim lights of flickering candles***

  • Another awesome song, by an awesome underrated vocalist...very very nicely done.

  • listen to this while the sun is setting after driving 8 hours alone...i'd never heard of richard marx and searched for this song for years ...it don't get better than this ...was that the late great luther vandross singing backup ?

  • slapbush ,also singing background vocals and keyboard is Greg Phillinganes.

  • When Richard Marx used to be popular I really did'nt think he was good until I started listening to him again and it makes me appreciate that his music is better than the shit today.

  • Although he's not in the video, Eric Johnson is supposedly the guitarist on this track.

I'm surprised they didn't let him take a solo too, though the sax solo here is great.

  • Excelente video muy apropiado de inicio sde los 90's

  • whos the base player

  • I believe the bass player is a gentleman named Nathan East? He was (and probably still) a session player - he played with the likes of Clapton I believe!!

  • thanks for the info

  • Luther's talent so extroidinary leading or background.Marx has a nice sound. But ! Who is the mysterious lady ??????

  • what music you bet bro
