  • I'm surprised that guy can reach his guitar, amazing song though.

  • what a fantastic Snare Drum he played

  • @hajomajor Yeah, always loved the sound of his snare. In my opinion the best one was in the video from pink pop 87 when they played eight miles high

  • Fantastic! Therapy? brought me to Husker Du ...

  • wish I was there right now

  • Loveliest song ever about a horrible subject...and the best version

  • hardcore/punk суканахуй motherfuckers!!

  • I remember a writer claiming that Bob Mould's guitar sounded like someone dropping a tray full of champagne glasses in a church. He ain't wrong.

  • Woops nevermind, it's Diane. i didnt notice side text. :p

  • That bassline in the beggining is so freaking tight. Which song is that? Bass isn't talked about much, but Greg Norton rocks the crap out of the bass. Best bass player ever.

  • i hate the drumming, but its really good apart from that

  • the best husker performance of the best husker song

  • Fuck therapy!- Husker's need therapy FU!

  • Great take..Husker Du freakin rules...always have, always will!!!!

  • love this band, thanks for posting. saw em on this tour at leeds poly, life changing.

  • This is so different from the Therapy? cover! SO different!

  • I like both versions of this song, they're both good in their own right.

  • the stoopid director focused on the bass player during the guitar solo

  • Bob and Grant in all their freaking rock and roll glory. Who the hell is Therapy anyway? They suck.

  • my least favourite husker du song. balls.

  • I like Norton's riff on this.

  • my favorite husker du song. never thought about bob mould as a guitarist, but he's pretty good.

  • Therapy may have great taste in covers, but they aren't fit to lick the sweat off Husker Du's balls.

  • Borat on bass! Great song , great bandd.

  • SUICIDEVOM is a god

  • Great song,,one of my faves. Does anybody remember the black and white video for it from back in the day? That's what I was searching for.

  • Therapy just covered it - Husker Du, or should I say Grant Hart wrote the song - if it wasn't for the Huskers then there would be no song for Therapy? to plagarise. Anyay Therapy? are Husker Du for the uneducated.

  • I wouldn't quite go THAT far but yes, Husker Du are the main influence behind Therapy? and this version is way better than Therapy?'s. Cacophonous layered guitars work so much better for a song about a psychopath than measured cello and violin.

  • I agree with you 100%. even if I like Therapy? :)

  • this song is the best

  • great!!!

  • god i love this guitar distortion and moulds play.

  • this is one of my fav HD songs exactly because of the part where the guitar enters after the opening bass/drum intro: that distorted guitar line just cuts to my sou!

  • People forget Diane was an actual person who met a horrible fate. It was all over the news in the Twin Cities. I personally love the song also but always try to remember there was a family that now only has memories of Diane.

  • never knew that. chlling.

  • And I thought Therapy? made it sound good, this is the real deal!

    Amazing...

    Nap

  • This is a thousand times better because it is the real stuff.

The Therapy version is the worst thing this band ever made.

  • i love this so fuckin beautiful *cries* i love it

  • whitelight - I think you forgot about the track "Gravity" (for one) on "Everything Falls Apart" which came out the year prior. I'd argue you could tell it even from bits of "Land Speed Record" but "Gravity" is a pretty solid foreshadow of what was to come. Ironically, I think that when they abandoned their early abrasiveness and roots they lost what made them brilliant, though I love some later songs like "Dont Wanna Know if You are Lonely."

  • This track was the first sign there was more to them than 4 to the floor hardcore - nice post

  • My favorite Husker song fo'shu!!!!

This is a great version!.....>Not to mention an amazing show et al!!!!!! Yup! Yup!.......They were the sheitttt yo. Loved their records.....Loved 'em live......Still do!

  • wow, fantastic. I love this band. Greg Norton is so cool.

  • Yeah. Greg Norton looks a little bit like the film actors in the 1920ies.

  • Amazing, I love the eccentric riffs that only Hüsker Dü had.

  • This performance makes the Metal Circus version seem so...asleep, I guess. Long live Husker Du!
