  • @cberkoben you need to keep in mind that ServiceMasters are franchises. They are each individually owned and yes some are very bad. Unfortunately the bad makes it look bad for all but there are good ones out there. Do not bash all of them when you have no idea what the good ones can do. We have a local one here and they have never done me wrong. They are wonderful.

  • @DanericFolk ya funny how this is a new prof on here makes me wonder who you realy r . ther may be good ones but when i paid extream amount of money to have things come up missing and stuff broke and then my health gos bad and my cat turns yellow and everything new bed clothes furniture carpet turns yellow then i get threatened from them not to take them to court then i read stuf on about 40 sites online about the fbi considering the whole nationwide svmaster to be a crimanal organasation ????

  • Check out my servicemaster video.

  • Just remember there is always to sides to a story. It's very easy to judge sitting in front of a computer.

  • We don't reconstruct. Not our job. Sorry for the contents though. No one owns that much Antique shit and lives in a tiny apartment.

  • good job on the video letting people know the deal

  • We own our own carpet cleaning and mold remediation company and we have fixed work that servicemaster didnt do the first time. this is a constant problem with them they hire un trained people at ten bucks a hr to do crap work and charge your ins. company 150 hr and for some reason they keep getting tons of work from the ins. companys. but as a home owner even if the ins. company wants them to do the work you can say NO you dont want servicemaster.

  • Love how all of a sudden everything in a customer's house is an irreplaceable antique, blah blah blah is all i hear, read your contracts and find out if replacing your cabinets and reconstruction are parts of it.

  • fuck you people. hope the mold comes back.

  • Very distressing at first view. I would like to hear the other side of this story please.

These things happen sometimes unfortunately espeially when there are three or four parties involved.

I would say that most of the ServiceMasters I haev dealt with are very reputable family owned companies that are connected with their communities and depend heavily on teh strength of their good reputation.

  • I agree too, servicemaster did the mold remediation and removal only. They were hired only to do that. Construction usually left to the landlord to hire. Usually Landlords are carless like that. And the only bad thing i can think of that servicemaster did was breaking the mirror, but probably told the landlord abou it but he never said anything to the tenants. And the walls only needs some spackling and paint,

  • part 2.... and they taped plastic for containment so mold doesnt spread, so i guess some people like mold spores in thier lungs instead of spending couple hundreds dollars to paint!! I work in servicemaster NJ as well. Accidents happen, but you should blame your landlord for not explaining everything. I had a lot of customers like you who cries over misunderstood situations, we will always be misunderstood becasue of ignorance.

  • With that said... they way your contents were handled is ashame. I hope that ServiceMaster franchise is taking care of the problem. I cant say that it never happens, no matter what resotration company you use, but when things like that do happen the company should work with you to have them replaced or repaired.

  • I work for a ServiceMaster out in NJ and after viewing this video, I agree with Dustin that the replacement of the trim, the painting and spackling and other repair related things could be traced back to the insurance company. As Dustin, who works for ServPro, could probably agree that many restoration companies do not offer reconstruction. With that in mind, the fault for those things comes down to the ins company and landlord.

  • as someone related DIRECTLY to this industry and sees this several times per day, both previous comments are 100% correct.

  • Your personal contents aside. The way the structure was left is the way any remediation company would leave a job once completed. The tape, drywall and trim are all part of the construction portion. The company was hired to remediate the mold and it looks like thats what they did. You should be on the landlord for not having the repairs done by now.

The personal effects should be paid for yes, but all the "unfinished work" is accurate because the work is not done yet.

  • @DustinSVC agreed, I work for ServPro and when we get hired for strictly a mold mitigiation, we leave the structure in about the same condition. they should have been more careful with contents, but stuff happens, and they should have liability insurance to cover it. unfourtunately, we get into sticky situations when dealing with renters/landlords. the renter wants thing done one way while the landlord(who is usually paying the bill and has ultimate say) wants things another way
