I am going to return it to the store today. I am really sick of all the problems I had with it. I know it runs SUPER with ubuntu 7.04, but sometimes it just hangs or my input from the touchpad or keyboard just dissapears.
I installed nearly all well known OS on same laptop, MaOS X 10.4.9, Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse, Kubuntu, Sabayon, Vista, etc and my PQSEVICE (acer recovery partition) doesn't work with Alt+F10, wat about you ? Any way to fix this ? Btw, does your Acer's fan makes loud noise and never stops spinning ?
why do you find it odd you need to move mouse continuously to install/use an OS? are you lazy? can't you hire someone to do that? maybe it is an energy-saving function?
Just the same happened me on my desktop PC with my graphic card but it was on Mandriva , i waited and the next version of mandriva worked fine, i hope that the only thing you can do is wait
don't listen to them, you are absolutely right. Vista does not support other operating systems. Also, Ford does not do warranty work on Chevy's, oddly enough. They will probably say THAT is absurd too!
Tuurlijk was de laptop er geschikt voor.

Let's hope and see what the store will say.
