@jdhathrisen Do british sitcoms do any better with fake American accents? I don't watch much British Tv but I have started watching Men Behaving Badly here on youtube.
Anyone ever notice that "Good son", and "Bad son" both have to do with putting Martin in a retirment home, and Frasier tittles with the word "Out" in them all have to do with gay people?
I love Frasier getting ready for a date... dim the lights, get the champagne/wine, walk slowly and cat-like to the door, turn on the music with a flourish of the remote, grin smugly, open the door, find wrong person there (usually Niles or Roz), turn off music...

I love Frasier!! Best thing that came from America... the only crap about it is Daphene... send back the trash across the pond and keep the show all American, all good!! :)
Frasier sure isn't looking for a serious relationship with this lady since he's lying to her all the time about stuff that would come out sooner or later, hence he doesn't expect the lady to be around anymore when it's time for "later"... he's such a player, bad, bad Frasier. :D
The actress playing Daphne is definitely English. Her character is supposed to be from Manchester. but her accent is not Mancunian. It seems to me, she was required to come up with an accent, an exclusively American audience could recognise as 'regional' British. To an English ear like mine Daphne's accent sounds mock- Lancastrian with a touch of mock-Yorkshire.
Whoops, at 0:48 in this segment, Niles uses the word BRING instead of TAKE. Oh well, maybe it was in the script as BRING, but still... it's the wrong word.
Both are grammatically sound. And actually, 'take' means to remove something more than to convey whilst 'Bring' is a word more suited to the situation at hand.
(I used to get slapped around the head for saying 'writ' instead of 'wrote' so I'm a little picky about language.)
If I ever have kids, they will be expressedly allowed to stash me away in a retirement home, but if they ever pretend I'm senile and stroke my head, they will pay.
Blondie's English accent is actually quite good. It's refined but not the sterotypical 'toff' accent most American's adopt when trying to do a posh Brit.
I don't even know if she is American. I'll assume so.
Why? Its a straight question. Also, why do you use YouTube? This is a forum for alternative perspectives to your own, and if you can't handle that and feel the need to be abusive then maybe you shouldn't be on here.

LOL, I never get tired of Frasier's "getting ready for a date" routine. Or that hysterical satisfied smile/laugh he does.
Of course you know the first time the doorbell rings, it'll be Niles or someone else and he'll shut off the music with that handy remote.

Blondie is Tushka Bergen which would make her accent genuine posh Brit, maybe with an addition of Australian/ New Zeland accent.

The actress playing Miranda Rogers is called Tushka Bergen. That is her accent in real life, actually. She is from London.
And I disagree, for I think that the accent is a good part of her appeal.
