My first concert: 1975 at Anaheim Stadium, Point Blank, Johnny and Edgar Winter (when "Frankenstein" was a hit), Blue Oyster Cult and ZZ To, on the tour where they had a buffalo, rattle snakes, etc. on stage! What a show! And point blank, in a tough spot in bright sunshine, had the crowd totally with them by the end of the set. A great band.
I remember seeing Point Blank open up the Texxas Jamm at the Houston Astrodome in 82 with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Santana, Sammy Hagar and Journey. They started their set with "On a Roll". That was nearly thirty years ago. Thanks for the post, brings back memories when concerts where the thing to do and the place to be.
Loved this song when it first came out in '81. it was a bit out of the norm for songs in that era and was very original. The "love" for it has never died after 30 years. :)
@rikkisogazgf I was the DJ at Cardi's in Beaumont. We got all the shows the night after Houston. Point Blank was a favorite. I remember Bubba sticking the mic in my face to sing the chorus on Nicole. Good Times!
@rikkisogazgf I am of that era as well & now I'm just a homebody and don't get out to places LIKE Cardi's anymore if they are even around in these horribly conservative social times in our nation? (our crazed Texas) Is Cardi's still there??

I absolutely LOVE this song and had no idea who originally recorded it. My band, PLAN B - New York's Premiere Cover Band, does a GREAT version of this tune...
This is GREAT! KMOD out of Tulsa used to play a ton of Point Blank when I was in high school. Haven't heard Nicole in many years. Thanks you for posting!
Thank You so much for posting this. I totally dig this song and did'nt know who the artist was for years and then realized they were on the same record label as ZZ Top and I heard a rumor that John Bonham of Led Zeppelin met these guys and wanted to promote them but passed away before the chance.
@MrSmokeydog Where did you read that John Bonham was interested in promoting these guys? I find that a little strange since the band Led Zeppelin was so against being commercially promoted AND make no mistake about it John Bonham would have represented huge Commercial Production simply because of who he was. Plus Point Blank was already an established rock & roll band who had pretty good management... It just doesn't make sense?? Point Blank a Texas Band and John Bonham an Englishman?
This song is fun!!!!

Wow that's some vintage footage, Rusty Burns is the only member remaining in the line-up today.
