  • I know you said this in the description, but it's NOT SUPER SONIC MAN!!!!!!!! :P

  • @needles296 your a genius

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 No problem, next time don't post something that isn't true.

  • @krebsderek See info at FAA re; Operation Bongo II sonic boom tests conducted by USAF in OK City. In the first 14 weeks, 147 windows in the city's two tallest buildings, the First National Bank and Liberty National Bank, were broken during sonic boom testing during the experiment, which ran from February 3 through July 29, 1964

  • @krebsderek - From Wikipedia - Facts taken from FAA - There is a probability that some damage — shattered glass for example — will result from a sonic boom. Buildings in good repair should suffer no damage by pressures of 11 pounds per square foot or less. And, typically, community exposure to sonic boom is below two pounds per square foot.

  • This was not supersonic. The vapor forming is an indication that the "Prandtl-Glauert" type of condensation clouds can also occur at lower speeds, and are not really a visible manifestation of the sound barrier being broken. If the aircraft went supersonic over a residential area several things would happen. The branch of the service he / she flew for would get hundreds of complaints and claims for broken glass, etc as well as a pilot grounded for violation of title CFR 36/91 or area equivalent

  • @Lear23Driver Watch the mythbusters episode where they get the blue angels to do low altitude supersonic passes to try and break glass. There was no broken glass. The only thing that happened was a window got knocked inside the shed due to poor construction.

  • where was this? it looks like the ex

  • @65016792 Ontario place,... pretty much the ex

  • Stupid canadians with technologie haha what a joke

  • @pakruy the real joke is in ur pants! haha

  • @pakruy Don't insult them. If your an American what a disgrace to your country! Learn to spell. Is this how we are represented?!

  • @pakruy yah i dont see how we are a joke...last time i checked we had the best flight academy in the world so...care to argue more?

  • @l3joint Yeah yeah! Rwanda has the best flight academy.lol

  • @pakruy rwanda lmfao omg dude ur funny

  • I thought the bird at 0:08 was it for a second

  • Nice video

  • @IVANRGTI thank you

  • no supersonic here just a little bit more maybe mach 0,96 because we dont have a detonation just the sound of the GE 404 sorry but don t break the sound.. cest pas parce que le cone de condensation se forme qu il y a passage du mur du son

  • NOOOISSE :D

  • I remember seeing a Canadian F-18 at the Cleveland airshow. The underside was painted to look like a Hornet! It was Awesome!

  • great video man love the noise!

  • @tenacious645 thanks

  • Wrong...

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 First off, you asked for my help so don't go on a power trip over it when I give it to you. Secondly, to say that you put videos up for yourself is bullshit. You obviously put a false title to make yourself feel better when you log in and see how many views you've gotten. You also have extreme control issues and should probably seek professional help. Telling by how many times you had to pronounce that you're the BOSS I'm guessing that you're very insecure.

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Well I don't consider myself perfect but thank you. I will help and it's a very simple and easy thing to do. STOP being an attention whore and posting false titles on videos to make your view count raise as well as your ego. Follow that one easy step and you to, might be as perfect as me one day...might

  • Actually Transonic, not fully. Certain parts of the airframe are causing mini-shockwaves (canopy, parts of the wing), but not a full supersonic shock cone.

  • I logged in special just to thumbs down.

  • @Z0ne5ive congrats u have a sad life.

  • at 0:48 I was like whaaaaatt? ah Its bird..

  • Sorry... that was not supersonic. The little plume off the leading edge of the plane has nothing to do with wether the plane was going supersonic.

  • If you hear a plane coming... it inst flying supersonic!

  • flying right over water like that gives it a greater chance of "puffing" but that was not supersonic. its not allowed because it could really hurt the audiences ears real bad.

  • almost supersonic

  • @homer30 i know, but "almost supersonic would be a crappy title for the video lol

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00

Transonic pass sounds fine. Try that.

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 yet accurate......

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 But people aren't interested in an almost super-sonic flyby. So when you incorrect title this video, it pisses people off who watch it just to find it's not what they thought it was.

  • AMAZING!

  • CNE?

  • @rodneyrick pretty much the CNE, ontario place...

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 pilot was in a bit of a hurry to get his Timmys coffee and timbits i guess

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Not supersonic. no afterburners at all going which means its at its own terminal velocity which is around 600 knots which would be transonic. just barely breaking the sound barrier

  • Was cool, but was not supersonic.

  • Sweet, cool vid.

  • @stampederjomama thanks

  • I love how stoked the dude is @53 seconds, he isnt even flying and hes pumped! haha

  • @bigwavedanny yeah that was the guy behind me having an orgasm because of the visible vapor coming off the plane lol,

  • oh yah now dontcha kno. thats one uh them there f- aighteen hornets now that is eh.

  • Supersonic produces a double crack or thump by shockwaves from the aircraft's nose and tail. Like subsonic or right on Mach 1 the sound waves can only ever reach a spectator at the speed of sound. So just as loud, just as sensory felt, only it all starts with a quick, maybe even undetectable, 'ba-boom' because the aircraft's two bow waves are moving faster than sound can propagate. The twin thud is proportional of the F18's length differential at Mach 1 plus speed in excess when passes.

  • @RenoDoctor my cats breath smells like cat food

  • 13 people don't like fighter jets.....

  • Not quite supersonic but still some nice vapes. Trust me, you will KNOW a supersonic pass at that range because you will FEEL IT too.

  • @DaylightDigital i understand it was just a title for the video i posted seems to be getting a lot of attention lately which is interesting since i posted it 2 years ago.... why the sudden interest??

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 I am just an advocate of understanding the nature of the physical world accurately. The pass in your vid was definitely not supersonic and people should know that. You will never see a supersonic pass at a land-based airshow unless the pilot makes a mistake. The only vids of actual supersonic passes are from frigates and aircraft carriers. Nothing special about the recent interest in the video, I came across it by chance.

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Battlefield 3 mate

  • @majch i should get that game having a hard time letting go BF2 though

  • i was there! haha

  • I was there. It was a mach 0.9 pass. Breaking the sound barrier would be illegal. The vapour was from him banking like steelstrings said. The "Boom" was the sound of the jet engine because you know.. it's a fighter jet going ALMOST the speed of sound...

  • that definitely wasn't super sonic and that also wasnt a vapor cone from breaking the sound barrier. the vapor was from him banking.

  • Subsonic

  • 0:47

Bird: holy crap i get out from here !!

  • close but no boom...

  • close

  • Did you guys ever get those gumballs and Bennigans coupons we sent you?

  • subsonic... flirtin with the sound barrier

  • um....no he was still subsonic..........youll know if he exceeds mach..... way out over open water theyll open it up all the way, but FAA will not allow aircraft to hit mach around cities or populated areas.

  • not supersonic!!!

  • 00:48 also the seagull is supersonic

  • that wasnt supersonic.

  • @MegaKiddr are you a fuckin goof, did you not hear the boom, or see the air flow change? watch 0:45 - 0:57, idiot.

  • @snipeefox lol bro watch the video man. it was subsonic. it was really close to breaking the sound barrier but didnt actually do it. lol why you gotta start callin out names and shit man? its a video dawg. chill.

  • @snipeefox therer was no boom. the boom is wayyyy louder then that and the cone happens while subsonic if your fast enough

  • @MegaKiddr were the detonation just the sound of the reactor

  • Not super sonic at all.

  • this aircraft not supersonic we dont have a sonic boom

  • watch?v=IgkFjyuJQ9Q

    is super sonic

  • It is legal for supersonic aircraft to break the sound barrier over the ocean. I wonder why they still dont.

  • interesting fact, but this was over a lake

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Indeed lake Ontario. The ocean is much further...

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 that is only transonic

  • @bujoun76 It's Illigal to break the sound barrier within a certain distance to any residential area

  • cool!

  • nice video... same happens in my video... with good audio u can hear a thump but not a bang like every expects this is an cool view of the CF-18 trying to pass the speed of sound..

  • thanks

  • he didnt break the sound barrier. the cloud puff is commonly mistaken for that, but can happen well below that speed.

  • then what does the cloud puff mean?

  • The white halo is formed by condensed water droplets which are thought to result from a drop in air pressure around the aircraft -wikipedia

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 The "white stuff" is a vapor cone (cloud of water droplets). Just as an aircraft goes transonic, there's a drop in air pressure around it, which causes moisture in the air to condense.

The result is what's called a "shock collar", the white cloud that follows the aircraft as long as it remains transonic.

  • Prandtl–Glauert singularity. Transonic speeds, not supersonic.

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 It means that a shock wave is building in front of the aircraft in humid air, not entirely unlike the wingtip vortices you see when an aircraft makes a hard turn. It is just air compressing moisture.

  • @CRsBeem sounds similar to a vapor trail...

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Normally when one refers to a "vapor trail" one means the trail resulting from the hot engine exhaust conflicting with the cold air at altitude (recall the famous photos of B-17s over Germany, e.g.). Condensation results, in that case from heat versus cold and the varying capacity of the air to hold moisture. In the case of the F-18, it is pressure that causes the condensation rather than heat. Hope this helps..

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 its water vapor flowing over the wings. if you have ever flown on a commercial airline at a window seat you can see it sometimes too. this plane was close to supersonic but just an inchling away from it

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 It means you're a retard.

  • @stuntmanmike37 oh ok then, somehow i don't think you would say that to me face to face.

  • @TOPGUNCANADA00 Sorry, just kidding. Actually that cloud forms as the jet approaches it's critical mach number, just under the speed of sound. It's created by the pressure waves building up on the wings. Remember, no boom, no broken sound barrier.

  • dang, hella sweet paint job. Probably hit some high g's banking into that high speed pass.

  • he didn't go supersonic

    i was there

    no busted windows or eardrums
