I am a big chuck norris fan here I have seen most of his movies and heard that one day he will be in the next expendables movie is that true or just a stupid rumor that is going around? Thanks in advance. Nice video I was born in 1977.
I was with Norris just before this time period. If it was his Torrence studio it was on Torrance Blvd and Hawthorne Blvd and was run by Ron and Frank Cedillos. I trained at his Redondo Beach studio on Artesia Blvd a few years earlier. Bob Wall was the manager there. Brings back old memories.
I believe one of the men in the video is Mike Bissell, (the taller man with curly hair.) Would you know how to get hold of a commercial that was shot at the Santa Monica dojo around 1972 or 1973? Chuck Norris did one for his chain around that time. Thank you for sharing the video.
I have no clue as to the address.....I was new out there In Torrace then and just went wherever Chuck took me. We worked out mostly at Chuck's home in Rolling Hills and that was a block or so from Bruce Lee's house. Great times and memories for us all.
Yes it is Rick Prieto and Aaron Norris, me and others working out in the Torrance or Santa Monica studio.. The video is black and white and no sound but that was state of the art back then. Lucky to get it. I was new in the line and fight scenes and didn't know the routines that day but great stuff anyway. Is this the REAL Jim Kelley from the BRUCE LEE movies. If so I have always been a big fan?
@dannylane1349 Hey Danny, I used to work in Torrance area at the time. Do you remember exactly where Chuck's dojo was? (address or nearest corner or intersection at the time?)I can't seem to place it. Thanks.
Nice vid. Is that Rick Prieto working out with Chuck?. This looks like the old Santa Monica Studio where Chuck use to work out with Steve McQueen and Pat Johnson use to work out of. Nice Vid.
wow! best film on youtube as far as Im concerned! Loved seeing Lane and Norris in the golden years of Martial Arts. I remember seeing the Octagon when it came out. I was so impressed with Norris. I asked my Master if he knew him, lolol!! I was only 10 at the time.
Gotta hand it to Mr. Norris -- he has NEVER stopped training. Here we see him eight years after his last match in competition, yet he's working as hard as ever. He's a great inspiration to us older dudes:). I've followed Mr. Norris' career for nearly 40 years. Regarding attitude, demeanor and behavior, he has always modeled what a martial artist should be. Given his achievements, it is extraordinary that he remains so humble. May God continue to bless him --
Then, after I was resusitated, I'd ask him to autograph the knuckle marks across my face from the Chuck Norris back handed bitch slap that knocked me out.
But the guy that has black(poofy)hair and a mustache, is the guy that Chuck was fighting in the beginning of the movie "A Force of One." and one of the other guys looks like his brother Aaron Norris. Actually this would be around the time which filming "A Force of One" would have started!!
Awesome stuff! I was a student of Mr. Lane back in the 80's and was lucky enough to go to the UFAF conference in Vegas with him. A great guy and a great instructor. Thank you for posting this. Keep them coming if you have more!
