Regardless if Iraq had WMD's or not nobody has been able to give me a justifiable answer to why we invaded Iraq following 9/11. Us invading Iraq after 9/11 would be like us invading China after Pearl Harbor. If we installed the same amount of troops in Afganistan as we did in Iraq we could have eliminated the Taliban and Al Quada and also captured Bin Laden.
This war is wrong, no question about it. Hillary talks about bringing home the troops in 3 phases. All it takes is one order from our President. And, Hillary can be blamed for the war because she voted for it. How dare she blame others for her mistake! SHAME ON HILLARY!!!
Bush lied about the war. Blatantly. Do your research. And there are tons of other great things Hillary will do if elected, like making universal heath care available and closing the wage gap by law.

I strongly oppose the war in Iraq, Bush blatantly lied about the purpose of the war and I believe this war is primarily in the self interest of the republican party.
I cringe every time I hear the argument that the budget to fund the war in Iraq was passed for the safety of the troops. Just bring them home. I favor Kucinich point of view. He was against going into Iraq from beginning. By the way no pass for those who say that if they knew then what they know now they wouldn't have voted for the war. They didn't do their job. They did not debate the issue, as Byrd had pointed out. One would think that they would know better given the Tonkin Gulf incident.
Jesus Christ, how can people support any other candidate? Everyone else just stands up there and unrealistically wants to end the war and refuses to fund it...putting troops in harms way.
We went there and messed up the whole country, removed a leader who was holding the country together, caused the deaths of a million Iraqis, and now we blame the Iraqis for not fixing that? Wow. Bitch.

we are already there. Either add more troops and make more efficient humanitarian efforts, or just leave and let civil war erupt over there. We can't half ass this war anymore. It isn't working. If they are really progressives and want to ameliorate what is going on in Iraq they know what they have to do. Richardson is an ass because when Saddame was in power the UN did zilch. Thats what he wants to do again. I don't think either a democrat or republican president is going to pull troops.
The UN saw how those people were living, although oil rich, lived in really bad conditions under a dictator. Was it worth it? Not finding WMD but "saving" and "freeing" a people? If we leave without fixing our mistakes and without makeing them self sufficient a good thing? I'm really curious. We leave then what? Genocide? Thats not cool. If we stay our troops die. This war needs more money. Soldiers without equipment and half assed humanitarian efforts won't cut it
I don't know. I kinda like Biden. I used to like Edwards but now I just think he's too inexperienced. Biden is the best of stature with the strongest convictions of all those wanting to lead.
It doesn't matter though. In the end I think John McCain is the best of ALL candidates in all parties.
Can Richardson not understand that the question is about a possible genocide in Iraq when the troops are withdrawn. Not sure if any of the candidates are worthy, they seem to be more worried about blaming issues on someone else and not willing to shoulder any of the blame for being one of the quietest congresses in the past 20 yrs. Stop pointing fingers and take some action and speak out as one voice.
The President is not telling the truth? What is the purpose of the Congress?! The whole Congress body cannot merely trust one's hostile belief to vote for an unstoppable killing scenario. Now US is in deep dilemma. Its economy is falling. It's all about oil. This nation is wicked.
DENNIS KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT!!! His answers are clear & straight to the point! He's the only one candidate that voted AGAINST THE WAR and did not fund the war. if you hear different, you are being MISGUIDED! He also was the one that brought up impeachment. He also is AGAINST the patriot act!

I think Clinton and Obama are overrated. Clinton is a woman and Obama is black, and so many people are impressed that they are running. I respect both of them for running and wanting to make the country great again, but I believe that they are overrated.
No, because that's all people are paying attention to. They are mostly getting recognition for their color or gender as opposed to what they're saying. I've listened to both of them and they both have amazing ideas and I agree with them on some things, but they should get attention from what they say instead of what they are. I'm not racist, and I'm female.
i'm going to agree here..... i mean rcism is such handeled so pathetically these days one slip like....just saying he's black or cumthin and your in trouble....
Okay, I did some more research on Gravel (to be honest I didn't know too much about him) and now I really like him. He is now, definately in my top 3 with Ron Paul and Obama.
Obama still funds the War, won't ask for single payer not-for-profit health care and said he would build a border fence. The fense is the dumbest idea ever.
An 800 mile fence on a 2200 mile border, built by Haliburton with Illegal aliens.
Im surprised! Joe Biden hit the nail right on the head. Its not the democrats fault that the war is escalating its that dumbass in office vetoing the bills neccessary to stop this nosense.
You think these dems are dolts? I know you didn't vote for Bush the ultimate dolt right? If you like Ron Paul thats fine, everyone has a right to their opinion. You must be working for him or something.
wow joe biden just rocked the house. btw i dont think of medicare and social security as social welfare like say "assistance for mothers with dependent children", which clearly is. this is because in order to get medicare and social security you pay into it your entire working lifetime. it seems more like insurance or a government mandated savings program.
This debate was touched on in our recent Week in Review. If you like hearing jokes at the expense of these assmasters, feel free to check out the video, even if you fast forward over the Paris Hilton stank status update.
One could look at it as this: congress uses its constitutional power of the purse and stop funding the war, and thus make it the president's responsibilty to protect the troops by pulling them out. He would be the only one keeping them there, not the congress.
Democrats believe in that degree of corporate welfare? Well you're sorta right, but his sort of corporate welfare is on another level. Worst war since Nixon and it's more shamelessly for energy than anything I've ever seen.
What cat hole have you been camping out in? Ever heard of the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement Act? The 534 BILLION dollars tax payers have to suck up and pay in the next 10 years to provide prescription drugs to people on Medicare says you are wrong.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, social welfare is defined as "organized public or private social services for the assistance of disadvantaged groups"
What part of taking my money and handing it out to the elderly (the afore mentioned disadvantaged) in the form of prescription drugs (a social service) makes the prescription drug improvement act not social welfare?
Please explain, your logic either just escapes me or isn't coherent at all.
i know, i've confused you. anyone who thinks that the failed medicare prescription drug plan is a viable social welfare plan is going to have to remain confused. please don't "appeal" to logic if you already know what i mean. it's not logical.
Is this all the democrats have to offer. This is a bunch of fucking clowns. One I think is some kind of rat. This is a pack of snitches and back stabbers. The war was based on lies alright and most all of you cowards lied especially Hillary.
sure... Let the republicans ruin it all over again. hell, i'll just say that they both have issues. but what do we know, who tells the truth or not.. *Coughs*Bush*coughs*
Edwards is the best person to be the next President of the United States. He appears to be the most genuine and admits his mistakes easily. He is positive in his vision and can inspire the nation to regain the confidence and credibility that George Bush has caused to be diminished.
Oh, and Biden is wrong. Funding the troops is not supporting the troops. Sorry, it's just not. I understand his argument fully. And I know what he is saying and why but it only gives the Bush admin more of the same ability to continue. Kucinich pointed out that the democrats were elected in '06 to STOP the war. And the democrats have failed. And so, just like Gravel was saying, this was is the democrats' AND Bush's war.
Gravel is right on explaining how it is not just "Bush's war" ..it was facilitated vy the democrats. Comparing to Vietnam was perfect--"how will we know?"...Mike gravel is the shit. But I place Kucinich just barley right before him.
I like what Kucinich is saying about not providing a funding bill at all. However, I could see Bush still keeping them there out of some insane attempt to save face and demonize the Democrats. I'm also glad Hillary said something that I think we've all been thinking for a while: "The IRAQIS have failed"
The second and third tier is pretty lame. The only ones that really matter anymore are Hillary, Obama, Biden, and Edwards. Would love to have them all in the WH, with Hillary leading them.
wtf Richardson totally changed the subject when WB asked him about Iraq possibly falling into a genocide. Either he was unprepared and I feel sorry for him, OR he really is an asshat.
Kucinich is the only one there who is not copping out. What Biden is saying is basically, "don't look at us, we shouldn't rock the boat!" Well thats bullshit and we don't need any more of this staythe course garbage. It makes my blood boil when I hear these Dems being so feeble. It just gives the GOP more traction when they call them flip floppers. With the exception of Kucinich they're right.
Why are people not talking about how incredible UNDERrated dennis kucinich is?

I think Clinton and Obama are overrated. Clinton is a woman and Obama is black, and so many people are impressed that they are running. I respect both of them for running and wanting to make the country great again, but I believe that they are overrated.

Because they are neither white nor male?
rocksand14 4 years ago
No, because that's all people are paying attention to. They are mostly getting recognition for their color or gender as opposed to what they're saying. I've listened to both of them and they both have amazing ideas and I agree with them on some things, but they should get attention from what they say instead of what they are. I'm not racist, and I'm female.

i'm going to agree here..... i mean rcism is such handeled so pathetically these days one slip like....just saying he's black or cumthin and your in trouble....

Gravel, Kucinich, Richardson and (maybe) Edwards are the only morally defensible people up there.

Gravel speaks the truth but amerikans don't like to hear the truth. that is why he won't win...sad but true

I totally agree. Kucinich and Richardson on the same ticket! Wouldn't that be something?!

Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama are way too inexperienced. Good thing the average voter do not pay attention to this.

I love how Hilary cannot answer one straight forward question...with one straight answer. Do you or don't you regret not reading it?!?

The 2007 Drug Policy Reform Conference will be in New Orleans from Dec. 5-8 in the French Quarter. Be there and help end the failed war on drugs.

I really hope it comes down to Ron Paul and Barack Obama, because then I won't care who wins.

What about Gravel!
overmind25 4 years ago
meh, I like Obama more. Nothing against Gravel though.
Landlubber0918 4 years ago
Okay, I did some more research on Gravel (to be honest I didn't know too much about him) and now I really like him. He is now, definately in my top 3 with Ron Paul and Obama.
Landlubber0918 4 years ago
Alright awesome.

Obama still funds the War, won't ask for single payer not-for-profit health care and said he would build a border fence. The fense is the dumbest idea ever.
An 800 mile fence on a 2200 mile border, built by Haliburton with Illegal aliens.

I guess on the Ron Paul people on the internet are working for him.
Vote Richardson!

Im surprised! Joe Biden hit the nail right on the head. Its not the democrats fault that the war is escalating its that dumbass in office vetoing the bills neccessary to stop this nosense.

These Dems are dolts. Kunichich(sp)? and Biden seem legit. Ron Paul 2008.
rationalthinker28 4 years ago
You think these dems are dolts? I know you didn't vote for Bush the ultimate dolt right? If you like Ron Paul thats fine, everyone has a right to their opinion. You must be working for him or something.

fuck, biden is so fuckin right.
holjesus 4 years ago
wow joe biden just rocked the house. btw i dont think of medicare and social security as social welfare like say "assistance for mothers with dependent children", which clearly is. this is because in order to get medicare and social security you pay into it your entire working lifetime. it seems more like insurance or a government mandated savings program.

Congress Kucinich is right about something:
One could look at it as this: congress uses its constitutional power of the purse and stop funding the war, and thus make it the president's responsibilty to protect the troops by pulling them out. He would be the only one keeping them there, not the congress.
Aubby18 4 years ago
Bush isn't a traditional Republican. He is more of a democrat in the way he spends money and passes social welfare programs.
r0b0t0 4 years ago
Democrats believe in that degree of corporate welfare? Well you're sorta right, but his sort of corporate welfare is on another level. Worst war since Nixon and it's more shamelessly for energy than anything I've ever seen.
breaks0 4 years ago
he spends money on war only. which social welfare programs are you talking about? there aren't any.
neognostic23 4 years ago
What cat hole have you been camping out in? Ever heard of the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement Act? The 534 BILLION dollars tax payers have to suck up and pay in the next 10 years to provide prescription drugs to people on Medicare says you are wrong.
r0b0t0 4 years ago
you know, i just don't count that as social welfare. actually, you've said it, it's the opposite of social welfare.
neognostic23 4 years ago
Some people are just dolts.
Please explain, your logic either just escapes me or isn't coherent at all.
r0b0t0 4 years ago
i know, i've confused you. anyone who thinks that the failed medicare prescription drug plan is a viable social welfare plan is going to have to remain confused. please don't "appeal" to logic if you already know what i mean. it's not logical.
neognostic23 4 years ago
Is this all the democrats have to offer. This is a bunch of fucking clowns. One I think is some kind of rat. This is a pack of snitches and back stabbers. The war was based on lies alright and most all of you cowards lied especially Hillary.
micsc50 4 years ago

He is positive in his vision and can inspire the nation to regain the confidence and credibility that George Bush has caused to be diminished.
prashantsolomon 4 years ago
vote Ron Paul... only him or Gravel can unite democrats and republicans.
pianista17mari 4 years ago
Finally, Gravel gets to speak! You suck, Wolf Blitzer.
Kucinich is 100% right. Biden is an idiot for just blaming it on Republicans.
Go Ron Paul!
midnightbright 4 years ago
Oh, and Biden is wrong. Funding the troops is not supporting the troops. Sorry, it's just not. I understand his argument fully. And I know what he is saying and why but it only gives the Bush admin more of the same ability to continue. Kucinich pointed out that the democrats were elected in '06 to STOP the war. And the democrats have failed. And so, just like Gravel was saying, this was is the democrats' AND Bush's war.
Ellerynum2 4 years ago
Gravel is right on explaining how it is not just "Bush's war" ..it was facilitated vy the democrats. Comparing to Vietnam was perfect--"how will we know?"...Mike gravel is the shit. But I place Kucinich just barley right before him.
Ellerynum2 4 years ago
I like what Kucinich is saying about not providing a funding bill at all. However, I could see Bush still keeping them there out of some insane attempt to save face and demonize the Democrats. I'm also glad Hillary said something that I think we've all been thinking for a while: "The IRAQIS have failed"
knavalesi 4 years ago
The second and third tier is pretty lame. The only ones that really matter anymore are Hillary, Obama, Biden, and Edwards. Would love to have them all in the WH, with Hillary leading them.

I agree, cept the Hillary being leader part... Obama. I'd explain why, but unfortunetly i cant type over 500 words.

wtf Richardson totally changed the subject when WB asked him about Iraq possibly falling into a genocide. Either he was unprepared and I feel sorry for him, OR he really is an asshat.
WingsTM 4 years ago
Kucinich is the only one there who is not copping out. What Biden is saying is basically, "don't look at us, we shouldn't rock the boat!" Well thats bullshit and we don't need any more of this staythe course garbage. It makes my blood boil when I hear these Dems being so feeble. It just gives the GOP more traction when they call them flip floppers. With the exception of Kucinich they're right.

Right on, bro. I can't believe Kucinich isn't the front runner. Anybody with half a brain would know he's the best candidate out there.
