It is sooooo hard to believe that the people in this video are now in their 50s or 60s. This is my mom's generation and she's in her 60s now. Watching this makes you realize how precious our youth is and it will be gone soon. I'm not so young any more (I'm an '80s kid), but one day I'll be 60 and wondering "where did time go?" This show feels like it was taped yesterday.

I think a show like Soul Train was good for America 3 years after Dr. Martin Luther King's assassination in 1968. It brought black people into the homes of white people (TV) who probably would have never opened their front door to a black person. While ST continued well into the 21st century, I think the 70s version was the best and the most endearing. Also, the clothes aren't that bad. I don't think the clothes are ugly... just creative. The world needed ST after decades of blandness.

Truth is we just got on the dance floor and moved our bodies
