There are two types of poor people diets. The "cheap means more quantity" or folks like me who'll spend the extra to buy better food in less quantity and unsurprisingly, not get fat. BTW, inexpensive Asian and Mexican centered grocery stores often have produce for far less than even Wal-mart does. Also, a bike and/or scooter in lieu of a car frees up a lot of cash per month for groceries, and helps to burn off any fat you get.

When she had 60k/yr job she gave to food banks. What we need is a total downfall to equalize things.

There are two types of poor people diets. The "cheap means more quantity" or folks like me who'll spend the extra to buy better food in less quantity and unsurprisingly, not get fat. BTW, inexpensive Asian and Mexican centered grocery stores often have produce for far less than even Wal-mart does. Also, a bike and/or scooter in lieu of a car frees up a lot of cash per month for groceries, and helps to burn off any fat you get.

We have two bikes- and the scooter and longboard for taking on the bus. As for being held hostage...I don't agree. There aren't enough police to enforce a police state. The important point is knowing when to leave and where to hide when the time comes. That's something you can't do if your name is locked down on taxable property.

Stuff like the Central Markets are overpriced to begin with. I live in minority neighborhoods and the grocery stores aren't leaving their core demographic. All institutions, public and private, practice elitism. I had to buy my neighbor groceries because she went to a food bank where they had fresh produce and meat...and all they gave her was a brownie mix and bread crumbs. When she had 60k/yr job she gave to food banks. What we need is a total downfall to equalize things.

That will free up lots of money for our very limited income. But most people find they can't make the down payment (we were lucky in that we got a settlement just as the housing market busted), so home ownership is out of the question. Without help, rent consumes far too much money!

With all our checks and balances in government we still let so much corruption put our potential lasting prosperity in grave peril. But we all know that the corruption is all basically about money and greed. We all know it's lobbyists, special interests, the revolving door between government and the [private sector]-which also includes fundamentalist interests.
