  • this is such a sick video. thanks for uploading man

  • what is the song at 2:14 ?

  • @Bobgaz808 a very rough version of "Electric Ladyland"

  • @Bobgaz808 did you watch the video at all? it says what it is multiple times.

  • this guy is a genius

  • 2:14 Did jimi really play that acoustically?

  • "a lot of them are over there...". As he pulls out a stack of 20 albums.

  • The 60'2s had Jimi Hendrix But we have John Frusciante

  • Frusciante is like a thought fragment of Hendrix...Hendrix was pretty discouraged by everything -this world...but he didn't abandon us, and he'll soon be coming back with unimaginable force..."don't you shoot him down, he's got to stay here"...and be willing to take a bullet - from him and for him

  • Jimi was a left-handed player. I never knew that.

  • wats he on about the last 20 seconds?

  • you have got the whole documentary ?

  • @bruncen

Type "Red Hot Chili Peppers - VPRO"

It starts off in Dutch but everyone speaks in English, so not to worry.

  • @brightlights456X tanx , but i tought you got the "hendrix" documentary cause you got an extended fragment

  • what a cool guy! hendrix is god

  • can't believe thts acoustic lol it sounds amazing!

  • @RipuBhatia its with an electric guitar amplified, he's just not using any effects. i think thats what he means :S

  • "Umm...a lot of 'em are over there..." as he pulls out 20 albums.

  • 60s had Jimi Hendrix but we have John Frusciante

  • You can really tell john loved jimi, and john himself is a fantastic guitarist. if jimi was alive i think he would love john.

  • John Frusciante's playing always reminded me of George Harrison.

  • Frusciante's sound was more influenced by The Band of Gyspys era Hendrix.....more then the Experience era....

  • love the enthusiasm when hes showing bram the hendrix recordings haha

  • Is it me or is Jimi a big comedian.

  • wounder what electric ladyland sounds similar to that may be on blood sugar sex magik witch possibly may be wrote under a bridge :D

  • is this the full interview? thanks for uploading :)

  • fucksake i wish i was like born ten years ago

  • @funkadelicmunk so you wish you were born in 2001?

  • @MAD2654 I meant ten years prior to my age. xD.

  • @funkadelicmunk i see, but im right there with you :)

  • @MAD2654 How old are you :) I'm 15.

  • John is the reincarnation of Jimi

  • Watching this and watching a more recent interview with John Frusciante, you can really see how drugs damaged him mentally... He is so much clearer and fluent in his speech here...

  • @JaLaRu94 Yep and I think drugs effected his playing skills as well. Don't get me wrong he's still one of the best guitarist alive but I'm sure he would be so much better today if he wouldn't have been a junkie.

  • @BlackhawKane listen to his solo music.

  • wow! fucking amazing...jimi was sheer brilliance and pure genius...it sounded like a bunch of layed down guitars, but it wasnt it was just him-one guitar

  • holy shit! its STEVE-O-

  • @stickshift237 oh my fucking god i have always thought that about john when he has this hair cut, i think its the hair colour and head shape lol

  • Jimi Hendrix and John Frusciante will never be forgotten, long after their physical bodies are gone, for they will live forever through their music

  • If Jimi Hendrix is god, John Frusciante is one of his angels.

  • @snakeweirdo frusciante is jesus.

  • I'd spent my whole life just chillin with John Frusciante, listening to Hendrix and jamming...

  • Frusciante would be disspointed in how i play his music and hendrix's.

    :(

Fuck it's 12 but i got school, i wanna practice...

  • @Emceetem They can never be disappointed in you playing it, as long as you have fun doing it.

  • i feel as if i was chillin with frusciante listening to hendrix

  • "He just fucked it. He just fucked the mold and he came... Right in front of everybody."

  • @SubsistenceSC Apparently he actually did this "mold fucking". I've read it in his biography. LOL

  • @SubsistenceSC that's a pleasant image isn't it?

  • he looks so young

  • I cant listen to Jimi Hendrix without thinking of John Frusciante

I cant listen to John Frusciante without thinking of Jimi Hendrix

  • @Jordo1900 Exactly the same as myself.

  • i watch this just to listen to the acoustic electric ladyland. cold chills run up my spine.

  • @myglassesareblue hell yeah man. one of my favs. its on the hendrix box set if you want a copy.

  • well henrix is a teacher for some up and coming guitarists

  • i cant believe he could play jimi hendrix songs when he was twelve .that is pure talent.

  • man herion fucked his speech up big time.

  • I love how eager he is to show the interviewer his Hendrix Records :)

  • who's drumming on machine gun? that doesnt look like mitch

  • @jdman331 its buddy miles. he was with the Band Of Gypsys.

  • @jdman331 Its the Band of Gypsies you idiot.

  • @TheDicamillo wow way to be a douche

  • @TheDicamillo Hendrix spelled it "Band of Gypsys".

  • @ovneb wow you're cool mr grammar

  • @TheDicamillo Well, if you're gonna be calling someone an idiot, you should at least spell it the way it was intended. Just saying....

  • @ovneb whatever

  • o shit i have that version of electric ladyland in my collection :)

  • John Frusciante is HOT in this video. And not just that, everthing he says is thoughtful...man I love him. :)

  • holy fuck 5:17 is very similar to any stadium arcadium concert intro

  • i want to listen to music with john frusciante!

  • Comment removed

  • I want to beat up assholes right now.

  • what's the name of this doc.? I WANNA SEE IT ALL!!! plzzzzzz

  • omg that guy looks like this guy that plays something with like his hands and he like makes sounds that show emotion like god and human touch.....stop n listen and hear the sound of earthly words.....hearing hidden sounds...like enough of me.....ive had it im gonna play some fuckgin music fuck me dead....

  • What's cool is, this Hendrix demo obviously means a lot to him, he put some of that Hendrix style into his own playing, Under the Bridge, Californication, amazing songs which are now known all over the world.

  • Imagine John and Jimi COMBINED! Johmi Fruschendrix

  • @pilotbutterfly

    Johnni Henciante

    John-ee Hen-shan-tee

    DUHH :P

  • LOL. A lot of them are over there, points to the right, then goes to the left and pulls out about 20 Jimi Hendrix records. Gotta love John

  • @sirchocotaco hahahahaha

  • @sirchocotaco jeah, but i wonder how its possible to have so many hendrix - records when he only made three (pluss live recordings etcetera)

  • @superkulmedkniv25 there is much more jimi hendrix stuff, like the band of gypsys ore blues records, and his jam secions with people like BB king... sorry fore me bad englisch. I'am form Holland

  • @GreenStreetHooligun

only problem with that BB king session is its in such bad quality. But I hear you; to truly hear his genious you have to hear him play on his live recordings.

  • @GreenStreetHooligun hendrix never played with b.b. king, there's an interview with b.b. and buddy guy where he talks about his regret of not doing so.

  • @superkulmedkniv25 after he died there is about 11 more albums, and the last one valley of neptunes out in march this year, 12 unreleased recording.

also, maybe most of the records frusciante have is his singles, compilation, live album... hendix actually recorded lots of songs before he dies...

  • If I met him at this period in his life, 1 minute of conversation with him would keep him in my head for eternity. Everything he says in this interview touches my heart.

  • @Amybaiby easy dude

  • @dontmesafrusciante Yeah, I sounded like a creep... I'm sensative, I can't help it.

  • @Amybaiby

'sounded just right; this man is all magic

  • @sesspleftocore He's unforgettable. <3

  • Jimis style for back in the day was pretty sick...i love it.

And to see that John loves it 2...then his music must be special.

RIP Jimi. ur music will forever be loved.

  • Holy shit.. I just realised. This video was recorded in "1990 (20 Years after Jimi's death)". I was born in 1990 - & I am now 20 years old.

  • Jimi is the climate of Guitar history. & The guitar has been around for a very LONG time.

  • "There comes a time when your own music becomes more important than anyone elses'" deep

  • Machine Gun and Star Spangled Banner.

  • I love John Frusciante!

  • He was a hardcore Heroin addict as well.. almost died from it, normally that would change how somebody looks... just lettin you know

  • @volcomskater2440 Well, he was like 19 or 20 then... He's 36 now...

  • hes 40 john was born 1970

  • @qlino1313 wasnt he born in 71???

  • Johns face has changed so much over the years. This doesnt even sound or look like him. Now i'm 32 and ive done a lot of dope in my days, copious amounts, but my face hasn't changed this much. Strange to anyone else watching?

  • @geostillo78 does drugs really affect ur age that much?

  • @thefameGaGa231 I mean, you tell me.

Look at this vid then look at some related, more rescent vids of John.

He looks like a totally different person.

This is a very extreme case of drug usage though. Some people lose their physical state, some people lose their mentel state.

    Like say....Syd Barrett.

  • he seems much more confident talking about music then than he does these days...

  • For all of you looking for the recording:

Search "Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland (acoustic, audio only)" on youtube.

    That's it. :)

    Enjoy the vibes.

  • damn..... machine gun is one of my favorite hendrix songs. hendrix and john are my two major influences, the reason why i play guitar. i guess my dad did a good job showing me real music at a young age. i guess im one of the teens now adays that keeps music alive and running. my name is Eli Rose, you will here about me in the future one way or another

  • @armthehomeless199 hahahahaha my name is jesus christ, you may have heard of some of my earlier work namely the word of god 2000 years ago

  • @armthehomeless199 For me it's Hendrix and David Gilmour... and Jimmy Page but I've thawed out to just Hendrix all day these days... I will carry his torch... but not for a little while.

  • @armthehomeless199 wow, your not blowing your own trumpet at all...

  • @armthehomeless199 we definately will! how could we not!? the universe revolves around 'Eli Rose'! at least thats what your dad said... i guess you're just one of those teens now adays that sodomises themselves with their guitar you fucking egotistic wanker.

  • So sad to see john like this, he doesnt even look like the same person! He even talks differently now. He is a legend though :)

  • @ChosenReject123 I didn't find this video sad, I think John was rather happy when listening to that record

  • @ChosenReject123 Why is sad to see John like this?

  • @DrBadtouchSaysDance I just think he was in a bad place, although not as bad as another interview that i saw, ahh man he looked awful in that. He is still awesome but i just think he is more himself and more grounded now.

  • He just fucked the mold and came, infront of everybody. Lol what a great line

  • i'd like to know what cd John was playing. It had to have been a bootleg.

  • I'd love to know the source of John's stories here. I've always heard that Jimi felt he was out of tune during Band of Gypsys, though it's news to me that he was incredibly angry (or however John put it) that night. Machine Gun--my favorite live music, too--sounds mournful over what was happening in Vietnam, tho I guess could be anger, as well (or instead). As to the Plaster Casters story...uh, evidence, please? Something along the lines of a smoking gun would do. Anyway, great post. Thanks!

  • Cool, a Dutch interview.

  • "their come s a time when your music is more important than others"

  • pretty sure the electric ladyland recording is on an electric...wtf, Frusc. And the part he says isn't on the track IS on the track...strange.

  • this is truley great!

  • "He fucked it and came." lol

  • does anyone know what the name of the documentary is?

  • VINYL ALBUMS! i SO MISS those days

is it me, or do CD's sound less powerful

  • this is when he was doing loads of drugs. bad times

  • @BazzTheBoss This is from 1990. Frusciante got addicted in 92. So this is pre-addiction footage.

  • @Shambles940 yeahh that must be true, he seems so alive and so young in this video, i like seeing him this way!

  • @Shambles940 Really?!

  • Young lad has been touched by the genius of Hendrix... its taken root

  • the end is lol

  • i say, all john frusciante fans form a new world were everyone can live in peace, play music, and listen to john frusciante all day

  • Yes, only music has the power to make this world turn round, and Jimi's and John's one are some of the most meaningful music ever !

  • @added23 oh yeah shit i forgot to read the description (n00b) He looked even worse 4-5 years later

  • @added23 i agree with you a hundred prosent.

  • @added23 yop that's so right!

  • @added23 And we can all trip out on music as well, haha. That would be the best world ever!!!!

  • @added23 that would be the shit! x)

  • @added23 They tried that in the 60's....

  • @added23 we've gonna build our world! :D

    (rhcp fans)

    sry for my eng(

  • @added23 Can we destroy all other music?

  • @ModelOrange lets do it! lol na theres good music out there besides johns

  • @ModelOrange

    no

  • @Ms123taylor :(

  • anyone know the cd that he plays electric ladyland off of?? cheers

  • I don't know where he got it, cuz this is 20 years old, but I have it from the 4 CD boxed set.

  • What, the album name??? Its Electric Ladyland...

  • It's included in the box set (purple).

  • Thats an awesome metaphor at the end

  • its not a metaphor x) he literally got his dick plaster-casted. It was something a gang of groupies did to alot of rock musicians back then

  • Okay that is just really weird

  • AHAHAHAHHAHA

  • hendrix and frusciante are the two greatest guitarists and people ever...... they are both another level above evrybody and no body can touch them

  • @VOODOOCHILDJORDAN i love you

  • i love john

  • Hendrix white = Frusciante

  • naw

    SRV = Hendrix white

    frusciante = frusciante

  • Nah man

Though Jimi Hendrix was probably SRV's main influence, SRV still had his own style...but because he looked up to Jimi you would hear some Hendrix bits now and then.

    Hendrix= Hendrix

    SRV= SRV

    Frusciante= Frusciante

  • well said

  • @MusicalRelease I agree with you here SVR had his own Texas Blues style...Thats what i loved about SRV he was infulenced by hendrix but he also had a creative streak .....You notice a lot 80s Guitarists were clones of EVH yeah they may sound good but they have no creativity

  • I would like to hear frusciante play alot more hendrix, maybe on his solo album. Im hoping

  • I love this shit, i can't listen to john or jimi for more than a few min without picking up my guitar... so thats what I'm gunna go do

  • @guitar0ne11 lol same here, all i gotta do is think of jimi and my guitar is in my hands without me even touching it :O

  • LOVE THIS GUY!

  • the hendrix cd is a posthumous release of outtakes called loose ends

  • this is some amazing footage ive never seen before. john frusciante is such a cool guy, as was jimi hendrix. I hope I'm able to inject such feeling and raw emotion into my playing.

  • What a transformation of this fresh young man into the John that we see today. It's amazing that he survived the heroin addiction. Remember how awful he looked!

  • john is hottttttt

  • wat cd was that?

  • Good lesson John.

  • is this dduring the heroin era?

  • no he just smoked pot here. he didnt get into hard stuff till around 92/93

  • "there comes a time when you're own music is more important than anyone else's music" -john frusciante 1990.

10 years later, he put those words into action.

  • 20 years?

  • Comment removed

  • nope

  • both awesome guitarists i like frusciante better cos he the hendrix of today

  • @DanPansza maybe you will ch
