I grew up in Frankston. LIved in Richmond, Carlton and the outskirts of Prahan right next to St.Kilda. What a mix hey. P.S and Carlton. How did I survive to tell you guys this. LOL
@MRMILO57 No it isn't! Have you been to Richmond lately? It's full of inner city yuppie professionals. Do you know how expensive it is to buy there now? One of the top 3 places to live in Melbourne.
@missdemeanour555 ......I sold me property there last year. Your correct, lots of singles and young professionals but it has serious drug culture, long term locals are awful people, so trashy.
Its very grubby, pollution dust everywhere.
So l'm pleased l sold the property, l wouldn't live there personally.
@MRMILO57 Ha! That is interesting. I also grew up there but haven't live there for 20 years now. Been in St Kilda for years, which of course also has druggies but a cool vibe too... You're correct about Richmond being grubby, but I grew up in the Hawthorn end, which is quite a bit nicer. :o)
@MRMILO57 Thats hilarious. I thought that was more the Northcote area. We just get the wankers & people from the outer suburbs over crowding my neighbourhood each weekend. St Kilda beach is ok, just don't step
on a syringe... I am curious... where do you live now?
@MRMILO57 Yep, love St Kilda, I fit right in with the weirdo's! Been here on & off for 12 years. Bought my place a few years ago so I'll be here for a while... Am near a milk bar so I do the get derro's begging for money, but hey, that's all part of living in the 'hood.' I could not live in the CBD, but I'm sure you have awesome views!
@missdemeanour555 ... as long as you like living there, go for it. I know what you mean about weirdo's and people asking for money, l get it in the city as well. I don't give them money, but l do offer to buy them a drink hot/cold or some tucker, most appreciate it.
Yep great views here, have great neighbors below and and above, and high level security, not cheap either. But I'm fortunate and love to help people in need as well, I like being charitable when people least expect it. :o)
@missdemeanour555 I recently worked in Richmond and parts of it are drug infested pockets where all the scum from around Melbourne come to score. Yes, there are nice places but don't think for one moment that it's full of yuppie professionals ... one of the top 3 places to live? is that just your opinion?
@kanga1234567 No, it was not MY personal opinion, this was printed in The Herald Sun newspaper a while ago. Yes, I know there are crappy pockets in Richmond where junkies hang out but the same can be said for Frankston, Balaclava, Footscray, Dandenong, Yarraville, etc etc. The price for renting or buying is very high in Richmond as it is so close to the CBD. I personally never go there as I grew up in the area & I hate it. So there you go. :o)

@missdemeanour555 ...cool, l've been hearing St Kilda has a growing feminist / lesbian population, I don't know if that's good thing!.
I do like to visit St Kilda beach, lots of fun.
