For me the World Cup looked really fixed since alot of people were saying that Spain was going to win and also they lost the first game, When they lost the first game I was like if they lose the other its not fixed but if they win its definalty fixed. Fixed or not they did great.

Keep in mind, Germany was a goal-scoring machine this cup until they ran into the Spanish defense. It's not necessarily about who scores the goals, but who STOPS THEM that matter most in the cup (2002 Brazil allowed only one goal in the knockout stages, Spain didn't allow any)

I never said you didn't need an offense, as you obviously need some offense (just ask Switzerland in '06!) However, while offense gets you to the knockout stages, defense is what helps WIN in the knockout stages. Spain has an amazing backline and one of the best - if not THE best - keeper in the world. Offense wins games, Defense wins championships

@honda1296 I never said Brazil didn't have a dangerous backline - far from it. Their backline was amazing. But Spain had one huge advantage: Goalkeeping. While Marcos was an amazing keeper, he wasn't the main reason why they won. Iker Casillas is the main reason why Spain was able to win. Without him, Spain is out in the QF to Paraguay.

Keep in mind, Germany was a goal-scoring machine this cup until they ran into the Spanish defense. It's not necessarily about who scores the goals, but who STOPS THEM that matter most in the cup (2002 Brazil allowed only one goal in the knockout stages, Spain didn't allow any)
