  • Are yams like sweet potato

  • @sportzfan9 what he is using IS a sweet potato, he calls them "yams" because thats what americans call sweet potato. What the rest of the world call yam is cassava. So in this case, yes they are exactly the same.

  • @londontrada "thats what americans call sweet potato" -- Yeah maybe stupid Americans. Yams and sweet potatoes are totally different. And the rest of the world does not call Yams cassavas.

  • @flinagin cassava is the general scientific term for yam type tubers, a yam is a cassava root. Most of the world call the vegtable he is using a sweet potato.

  • @londontrada No.... The "rest" of the world calls yams... yams or boniatos. They call cassavas...well cassavas or yucca roots.

  • @RuffianRepartee Yes............ Americans call sweet potatos yams, thats what the guy was asking, Cassava "is" the base name for any Yam.

  • @londontrada yams and sweet potatoes are similar, but NOT the same thing. And Cassava is waaay off, I work in an international grocery store, and we sell all three, they are not the same.

  • @londontrada frickin americans!

  • loaded with anecdotal broscience....its funny how it spreads like a plague through the followers upon followers paying $100's on supplements and bro subscriptions per month but won't spend a dime education themselves about the anatomy and the vast amounts of research out there dispelling all these myths on meal frequency etc.

  • great videos! the only thing id say and i dont know if anyone else noticed but the sound seems to go out of sync for the last couple of mins on each of the videos-but thats me being picky!

  • Great work on the series rob, definitely helped me out across various areas.

Especially removing milk from my diet :)

  • @conditioningdaniel Hello Daniel, what would be the best option to replenish the calcium when you don't drink milk? calcium pills?

  • @iagobroxado I still don't know, that's probably best.

  • @conditioningdaniel I've been reading about it and seems in my case (I drink only 1 glass per day) it's not something to worry about. What we gotta have in mind is that unless you can buy the organic kind, milk these days is full of hormones, antibiotics and stuff we don't want to put in our bodies, so to get some calcium I see no harm in having a glass. As a protein source, it's not worth drinking 1 gallon of milk per day to have like 90 grams of protein as I've read some "specialist" saying.

  • @iagobroxado Yeah good point, I just take calcium tablets nowadays anyway, not even missing the milk :)

Thanks to robs advice I've gone from 87kg to 81-82kg in about 3 weeks, just from a few changes to diet :D

  • thanks a lot rob these are really helping me plan my meals for the day. appreciate everything your doing. glad to see someone from england showing people how its done.
