well that's the exact same thing my sister and i were wondering and this kid, Kevin, themacexpert said that the sony webbie was superb and compared to the flip better quality. My couzin just got the flip and it is nice but when we played with the working webbie model we were like this is ten times better! super awesome- so we're doing the webbie over the flip. hope i helped!

This looks good but it needs a stand so you can comfortably take videos, and wifi so you can upload directly from the cam to youtube because some people have old computers that don't handle HD or video well at all.

nah, it isn't better than the zi6, i was looking at a webbie, and the mic is way to sensative, when you move your hand grip on the camera, it makes loud noises in the video, i haven't had much experience with the flips though, so i don't know about those. i think the zi6 is a better choice.

I'm so disappointed that it has an internal battery. It would have been my first choice had it had a user-replaceable one. A couple charges down the road, it will be practically useless. I'm going for the Kodak Zx1.

the resolution on this is reported to be 1440 x 1080. that is not widescreen. i think it would be better if it was 1280 x 720 widescreen, which is still hd. it is made to upload videos to the web anyway, so 1080 isn't even necessary, in my opinion.

? My friend, it IS widescreen. Just like HDV is widescreen at 1440 x 1080. You can even see the black bars on the LCD. BUT something to excite you, the Webbie HD has 3 recording options: 1080p, 720p and VGA

Allen, but they're marketing it to people who upload videos to sites like YouTube. Something that shoots in 1080p isn't needed.  And if you're someone who uploads videos to YouTube, but needs a professional camcorder, you should buy one. I'd say the Webbie is rather useless, aside from acting as competition to Flip, Kodak, and Creative.

Yes it is needed. Because youtube recompresses it to 720p, and then occasionally the youtube members will WANT to actually watch their videos on their HDTV, besides youtube. Also, i already have many proffesional camcorders, I just need a small HD camcorder where i can put it in places i can't put my big HDV cams. It's not useless.
