@osummuso Hi - I've always known these to be called wolfberries, but the more common term is goji berries. Where I am they are sold in Earthfare and other healthy food stores. There is no real equivalent, though I would say they are similar to a raisin. They add a little bit of a sweet flavor, but if you leave them out of this recipe it will still be good. I sometimes leave them out myself and the main reason I add them in a lot of my soups is because of their health benefits :)
@KasCooks I almost forgot about this recipe. I usually just make this when I'm starting to feel like I'm getting a cold. I guess I always think of sweet potatoes in something substantial like your delicious sweet potatoes with sausage and eggs :)
such a wonderful recipe my friend! a perfect base for tasty additions and I am always looking for ways to get more sweet potato into my diet... do you have any sweet potato curry recipes? ~HUGS~ take care, hope you and the family are doing great!
@JimboJitsu I don't actually have any other sweet potato recipes. I don't really eat them that much. When I make this soup I drink the broth and mash up the sweet potato and serve it with dinner; but traditionally you're suppose to just eat it with the soup ..lol. I did make some great sweet potato muffins from EZglutenfree's channel the other day - they were delicious! We are doing well, thank you so much :)
@AsianCookingmadeEasy Thanks, this recipe will do nicely. It allows for many directions to be taken from the base dish as it looks like it has a nice delicate flavor. Scallops, garlic and bacon come to mind for some reason... ahhh... I look forward to the day I can return to my kitchen more frequently! for now You make a me hungry!
@YalisPantry Oh everyone spells it like that lol. I thought it was neat when I first saw your channel how your name is Yalila...it's like my name with the ya in front :)
Wow how weird, I just went shopping and bought some sweet potatoes for the 1st time ever, now I know what to make tonight with them, thank you so much!
@bowhunter2439 Yes, it is a bit different, it's actually a more traditional recipe. I usually drink the broth when I'm feeling a bit under the weather and the mash up the sweet potato and serve it with dinner :)
@Picafuli Thank you - I appreciate this :)

I have everything in the house except the berries.
I've neither heard of them, nor seen them?
Is there an equivalent?
What flavour do they add?
