@Joannelovesjello hello there! :) thanks for your comment. i can hear how important it is to you that all artists are treated with fairness and justice. i agree, it's really no fun when people copy or steal your work. it's happened to me a few times. i can assure you that this is not a copy of any of audrey's work! i wish mine were as good as her stunning paintings! the only thing I did use as inspiration from her work was the arm/ hand, but that's it. cont.

@Joannelovesjello cont. the face is entirely my own design (audrey's are so much more elegant!) and the hair was inspired by Stella Im Hultzberg. The octopus comes from a photo of an octopus I took years ago at the zoo! As for materials: nope, audrey uses mostly graphite and acrylics (I believe), I'm all about the watersoluble crayons. And wood: all of use mixed media artists work on wood, don't see a problem with that. It's an old bit of shelve. :) Hope this appeases your worries! x Love, Tam

the womans face is significantly better than the octapus, shame, i think maybe a stronger colour for the octapus as it kind of blends into the background .... the expression of the laidy is really good though ¬!!

I had to come watch this video for the 4th or 5th time now, because in her latest video Suzi Blu showed a statue that she just bought & said she was going to start sketching its hands.

I commented to her that the hands reminded me of how Audrey Kawasaki does the hands for her girlies, which then reminded me of this video since I remembered you saying that's who you were inspired by. Kawasaki is my favorite illustrator (& I love ocptopi) so you can imagine how much I adore this piece!

looks like charcoal and i think she just used a brush that was a wee bit damped in water to spread the charcoal more evenly. But this a great piece i always wondered how ppl painted in wood. and i guess i just saw this today :]

Tam, I truly love this painting. They're awesome. I love octopus and when I was a potter, living in Florida, I made an octopus pot. Tradition has it that if you place a pot in the ocean for an octopus to find and use as his home, you will have good luck the rest of your life. So my friends and I would take pots out as far as we could and drop them for the octopuses. I really love your painting. She is a mermaid with her friend. It's beautiful.
