If you do research, you'll find them. Some good suppliers include Caswell Plating, Alexander Engel, OTW, SubTech, Rogue Subworks, Mikes Subworks and others.
The Akula was actually very watertight. When properly installed, the seals in the Engel kits are very good. The sub used standard servos for the control surfaces. Like most modern subs, a lack of low speed maneuverability was the tradeoff for stealth. Rudders behind the prop allow for excellent maneuverability at most speeds, while the forward rudder arrangement of the modern subs requires speed in order to be effective.
This model comes complete with all of the electronics as it is shipped from Engel in Germany. It features twin piston-style ballast tanks, as do all of their model offerings.
Typically, you'd be good to about 10' of depth with a usual WTC setup. Fresh water is good for control pretty deep, certainly further than you could ever see it. With a good angle (say standing on a boardwalk over your model), you'd be good for around 30' depending on the mineral content of the water!
I was thinking that would be fun to have... and than I saw the Viper in the background... my Jag is better though :-P

Absolutely. Check out Engel's site (just search it online). They sell everything you need.
