  • nice one!!!!!!!!

  • Dear lord, this man is so talented. <3

  • Anybody know what tuning he is using?

  • @jivebandit Hey man. I know it's been some time since you posted your comment. But if you're still interested: I'm pretty sure he drops both his high and low E's down to D. If you play around with hammering on the second string from first fret to third, you will see the pattern. :)

  • this is pretty different, if you want to hear more very original stuff you should check out solia tera

    youtube.com/watch?v=8CtzS6F8Ivg

  • If the guitar would have been in fact unplugged (maybe change title to "acoustic" instead of unplugged?), it would have sounded a lot better. The full sound of the guitar over the speakers makes his voice sound a little week, too bad, I love non-amplified vocals :)

  • maaaaaan i love love love him!!!

  • what a cool fuckin dude.

  • I love it! He just throws his head back and wails it out.

  • does he always do the encores by himself?? I can't wait for my concert in may!!!!!

  • @basketcase5295 Not always. This wasn't the encore, he just came out and did this randomly.

  • no microphone, too cool

  • i want that coat.

  • what did the guy at the beginning of it say?

  • I love his voice:D

  • oh Robin.

  • Looks like an indie Jesus.

  • ahhh i wish i was there! i almost went to western, this makes me wish I had.

  • I went to this show! such an amazing concert :)

  • Thanks for introducing me to this excellent song! I've tried and failed to find any tabs or chords for Katie Cruel online (any version whatsoever). Can anyone help me out?

  • @DanHungerford5

  • this man was born to sing.

  • this man is on his way to being a legend

  • tru dat

  • edwinseattle - i'm so jealous

  • haha i like the karen dalton voice he does at the end.

  • I was there, priceless

  • judee sill also....

  • on my knees worshiping Robin Pecknold!

  • hey yeah, im familliar with the dalton version, wich is really awesome how she does it. I would say she makes it her own, but i dont know the orriginal version.

  • Is this a karen dalton cover?

  • yes !!

  • It's an american traditional folksong, dating back to the war of independence, but may be even older than that and be originally from Scotland. Aparrently! The Karen Dalton version is the version that most folk (including me) have heard before...

  • I've known about Fleet Foxes for a few months now but am just now exploring more about them. After watching this video it's obvious that Robin Pecknold is a gifted songwriter. I strive to be as good as him!

  • It's not a Robin Pecknold song, its an old American folk song with Scottish roots.

  • the fleet foxes are such a fuckin amazing band, and robin ..he has one of the most honest ,,pure voices i`ve ever heard ...

  • Right on, Rhiannon. I could not agree with you more.

  • I wish there were more guys like him!

He sings & plays SOO good AND he is soooo hot!

    OMG..

    (please NEVER shave!) :))

  • great

  • magic moments!

  • jesus kows this man is soooooooooooooooooooooooo fuckin special!!!!

  • i forgot the "N" ha

  • Thanks for sharing. This is amazing.

  • Aweome banter!

  • he is so aaaaaaaamazing!

  • he also played this last night in santa cruz. it was amazingg.

  • AGREED!!

  • AGREED!

  • What did "Evan" say in the very beginning?

  • I'm so glad I found this... amazing.

  • So glad I was able to find a good quality version of this online (just heard him sing it last night at the Roundhouse). It really was amazing to see someone sing this in a 2,000 capacity, sold-out venue, without microphone, and to have it be so clear and so good.

Sidenote, I really like that you included the banter (and your subtitles!)

  • your welcome. the banter makes it more personal and get a feel for our the band interacts with its fans.

  • I was there, my second time seeing them live. I remember a few days before the concert someone asked me if I was going, and I told them yes, and they said, "Good, because you'll never ever see them for $6 again." Probably true. They're getting pretty big, and they deserve every bit of it.

The venue was perfect for them, I'm not sure if seeing them anywhere else will live up to that.

  • do you have anymore from their performance?

  • yes but i'd have to dig it up.

  • @HorseCaak DIG! lol this is amazing

  • They / he played this in Sydney. He can hollar that lad. Jesus.

  • He also did this in Dublin. He certainly can - and sans microphone!

  • Fans of FLEET FOXES. Check out the video response above if you like THE DECEMBERISTS as well...

    -BLAIR

  • Yeah I agree, The Decemberists and Colin Meloy's solo work is wonderful :)

  • Does anyone know the chord progression?

    Please HELP!

  • Wish I could help you, but I'm just a drummer...

  • I'm just a drummer. Was on wrong account...

  • It's in dropped D tuning. For the verses he's doing a sort of Dminor thing where you sometimes play the high e string open. Then every now and then he'll go from an F chord to a G chord. You can figure out the rest from there, but that's pretty much it.

  • fantastic performance! what a voice!

  • Does anyone know the chord progression?

  • I saw them play here in the UK on Tuesday - this song was outstanding. I'm still buzzing from that night. I'm booking up tickets for when they come back to the UK next year.

  • i can't get enough this. i watch pretty much every time i go on youtube.. I have to see this in real life haha. I have to see fleet foxes live.. and i will.

sweet job on the video dude.

  • Well I haven't looked at their tour schedule but I hope they make it out to New Zealand for you! I've seen them a handful of times but they are local for me. They are from Seattle too...

  • From the Clash to Fleet foxes in the last few minutes... I'm pretty much set to start my day now. LOL :)

  • nice...he also sang this song in Seattle (night after) it was great.

    great quality btw

  • Thanks for posting... this is GREAT!

  • Ya, Great Band. Great Performers! Good guys too!

  • Okay, this is the second time I uploaded this due to last one not having sound... This one worked! WATCH IT IN HIGH QUALITY!
