GameStop makes all their profits from used games and accessories. They pay out the ass for the new products, so when products come back to the store they become used and GameStop gets to KEEP the money from sold used games and accessories. So the way I see it, if anybody is being greedy it's the game companies, either making you pay full price or making you pay 10 or 20 bucks for content that SHOULD have came with the game

@AgentZombieMan Well they DID make the game. It's not being greedy. The reason why they made the game is to make money, which Gamestop is taking away from them. Who cares if you have to pay full price for the game? It's only 5 to 10 dollars more, and a lot of the times Gamestop doesn't tsp the games so while they may look good, they're actually broken.

it Would be nice that Basically Game stores Sold Online passes like this. Buy a Brand New game Get the Pass for Free. Buy a used game and have the choice of the Store Adding a Online pass for 10$. theyre not stopping anytime soon. Sony already makes trillions, they own a majority of the music industry, a mass regular tech area, computers, and much much more. Sony does not need to make more and more money off the gamers ignorance. They already get rights to a massive majority of the music in their games. They already save money by using music they can basicly through into any of their games. They bought out one of the biggest record company, a long time ago.

@Bob0p Its worth noting that not only sony will be doing this in the future, alot of other smaller companies will begin to adopt this system aswell. Which is a plus side as more money per game=more money for companies which leads to more small companies surviving.

On the other hand this will be a huge thorn in the side for the retail stores selling their games preowned. They have to buy new games for just under full price ($40-$50)and this makes it difficult to turn a profit without used games.

Cause its only $5 off and honestly WE ALL KNOW they could drop the price even more but they want to make money! Go to cash converters and you can get a brand new game $40. On the online passes thing, there's an easy solution for companies to do for people who rent games to try them out.

They could provide a temporary pass for people who play the game for the first time, so they can try out the online component and decide whether they want the pass or not.

To be honest if they rent out games couldn't they just include an account with pw with the game registered ? If you change the PW or so on they have you're name or whatever to check, its the same as if you don't return your game so why wouldn't some place do that. Or if you want to trade you're game in make a new PSN account register the game there play it trade it in, or sell it with the account.

online passes dont matter because you can always wat for the game to drop in price and pick it up new at a discount.the avg game tends to get down to 30 bucks within 4 to 7 months the time can be slower or faster depending on the ttle and its popularity. if youre patient and have a backlog onlne passes are a joke.
