  • you realise how amazing this piece is when you no longer see a human but an actual bird

  • @TheMaraMassacre Wow, what a compliment, and great observation, thank you!

  • mmm sweaty!

  • nice dance very gog amigo

  • wow, you dance for the Béjart, wonderful

  • When they can't sleep?

  • was there a costume change i dont knw what one this is

  • This is the last solo for the bird, and yes, there was a costume change. Bejart changed the costume for the bird that year, because we had a guy doing the role who had short legs, and he just asked everyone to wear the red pants who danced the role that year.

  • thank you Ramon . If by any chance you meet someone that may have his e-mail I will be really greatfull .....

  • Hello Ramon . Happy new year !!!! My name is Sylvia Im from Venezuela . I meet 20 years ago one time Bejart came to Caracas a dancer called

jozef Tari and we became good frieds . I would like to know about him . Can you help?

  • Hello Sylvia, I'm sorry to say that I have no contact with Jozef Tari, but I think he's in Paris, last I heard.

  • out of this world inspiring

  • Thanks for making my day! Much love,

    Ramon

  • wow, Ramon, this is so beautiful!!! It is very sensual and it is 100% technique and it is beautiful baby! I wish I could dance half as good as you!

  • Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your wonderful comment with me. It really made my day.

    All the best,

    Ramon

  • I love the little details, like the little shake in the beginning like a bird trying to unwet it's feathers, or the first extension thing (I'm a singer not a dancer at all so forgive me if I use wrong terminology), where it looks like both your arm and leg are on one string. It just looks really organic, and real.

  • I learned this variation more than 20 years ago from a dear teacher of mine, Michael Thomas, who is gone now, from AIDS. It was wonderful seeing it again. You dance it beautifully. It was the piece that made me fall in love with Stravinsky's music.

  • Thank you for your compliments. You just scared me though, because I know someone named Michael Thomas, who used to dance with Ailey. I hope you're not talking about him. Somehow I don't think you are, because he never danced for Bejart, and wouldn't have known this ballet 20 years ago.

  • Oh, no, I know who you're talking about, and he's very much alive. My teacher died in the early '90's. Many of my teachers died back then. It was a dark time for dance. Even Alvin died in that era.

  • Thank you for clearing that up.

  • Ramon Flowers,You are perfection in taste and style in this difficult solo. What also stands out for me, is that your base technique is 100% classical ballet!Bejart had impeccable taste in dancers.Bravo!

  • Wow, thank you so much, you just made my day! All the best.

    Ramon

  • Miraculously beautiful! Extraordinary. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • i thought that was beautil. i only started dancing 2 yrs ago. wish i cud dance like that. i suck at ballet.

  • Thank you. Just stick with it, it takes time and hard work, but if it's something you love, I'm sure that you'll be just as beautiful in time!

  • Lovely music, but overmodulated (much distortion). Bejart ballets are stunning. See Bolero, Sacre du printemps.

  • the body of perfection!!!

  • I saw Clifton Brown, from Ailey perform this last night in Boston. It was breath taking!!

I love this music and the dancer in this video excerpt is awesome.

  • Just saw Alvin Ailey perform this piece in Detroit .. Clifton Brown danced...it was STUNNING....What an exquisite piece...

And it is still one of my favorite Stravinsky ballet scores...

Ramon, you do a lovely job in the excerpt above.

  • technique has come a long way indeed but Bejart is a one of a kind talent raised old school, he deserves great respect, I just don't think you can compare.

  • Thanks for your opinion, I'm glad Bejart was the one who believed I had the technique to dance this role when he made me first cast, as well as the European critics, and not you! I wonder, can you dance at all, or do you just sit on your fat a** and pick other people apart?

  • Please watch alvin ailey do this..... i have seen Matthew Rushing and Clifton as the firebird and they will BLOW U AWAY believe me.... go c them nx season people RIP Bejart

  • Can't understand why Bejart is so famous.

  • Is he?

  • kinda

  • I hope you're not so narrow minded as to base your opinion of Maurice Bejart's fame on this one small excerpt of his many amazing works! May He Rest In Peace!

  • Inventive! Bravo!

  • WHHHHAAATTT!!! Ramon that is bananas! You are beautioful. Seeing your extensions makes my heart melt. Your fluidity is mesmerizing! Thanks you for sharing! JOHNNY

  • really beautiful this dancer is a real artist

  • esta muy piola

  • Beautiful dancer! I have only ever seen female Firebirds (in the old Fokine version). I think this one is far prettier!

  • The dancer, is a beauty to watch, I have no other words but wow!!!!

  • this is so good.

i have to do a bird dance and i was stuck for ideas but this realy helped.

could you please tell me what the music is.

    thank you.

    xxx

  • Hi, Ramon:

I have seen this dance of you (and some others that are in Youtube). They are really moving. Thanks a lot for them.

    Folkteller (from Madrid)

    Ramon
