His timing, his phrasing, the quality of his voice are so pleasing.... added with his quiet confidence and humility, that's just a killer combination. It would be so refreshing to have him as a role model...someone with raw talent who isn't an egomaniac. You can tell he is well thought of in his home town also...that speaks volumes. I can see him at his piano or playing his guitar for Pepsi now.

If 30M people voted, they must know who got the most votes. They kept saying they sent them to the finals "in no particular order," and I'm hoping Josh went last to fool us because they knew he got the most votes.

As for the other three contestants, Melanie is good. She can sing no doubt, but she's nothing new. Chris, I love his story but he isn't the best singer unless he sings his own songs. If he were allowed to do that throughout the competition then he could win. And Marcus has good stage presence but I am not a big fan of his vocals.
josh is the best singer on the stage but i dont think melanie will make it all the way its a toss up between josh and chris i say chris cause he has the balls to play his songs that america has never heard plus he sounded just like sugar ray in the fly it brought me back to when i was a youngster lol im only 20 but i give all of the performers credit im a musician myself and some people songs i just cant sing

Melanie is a great perfect singer, but her voice is not unique. She sounds like many artist I've listen too. Josh voice is just pure soul, and when he sings it gave me chills. Yall can boo me if you want, but he's definitely up there with the greats...
Marcus and Chris and great entertainers? Doing what? I wouldn't call what they do dancing. It's more like monkey walking. I'm not sure what LA, Nicole, and Paula are smoking when they complement these two because they entertain. I would rather have a person who's really good at singing win than a mediocre singer who tries entertain with monkey walks.
Josh and Melanie are in another level compared to Chris and Marcus. @LLytwynec Melanie is not doubt very good as many other wonderful female voices that are out there... in fact all over the world! If you follow xfactor in other countries you can find plenty of voices similar to Melanie's but....JOSH...is pretty unique and hard to find. He has an uncommon talent and voice. And such personality that he can make any song sound like his own.
No one will ever touch Jeff Buckley's (on youtube, so check both the video and live versions), but Josh nailed this, given the time constraints (his piano work flawless as well). Simon was UK judge when Alexandra Burke did the "diva" version of this, so his comments to Josh were high praise indeed.
