theres a glitch i found where u can spin jump while on yoshi make sure yoshi is under u then spin jump on him and those yellow blocks with eyes that flip over when u spin jump on them they get destroyed so u spin jump on yoshi and u will ride yoshi while breaking the blocks

I love how you didn't think to have yoshi eat the green shell, get off yoshi so he's still holding it in his mouth, throw the red shell over, use that to get yoshi down so you have both shells, then continue onward and upward...er... downward in this case... but thats the most straight forward way of beating this part of the game...

I explained what happened before, but a lot of people missed it. WMG claimed copyright on part 3 of the video because I sing a Muse song and play it in the background. The song's 3 minutes long or so, not 10 seconds or whatever others are saying. Since the audio and commentary tracks are recorded merged the music can't be taken out unless the entire track was muted. 3+ minutes of silence would've been stupid, let alone the entire vid, so I took it all down.

Here's my idea, don't know if it'll work though...make Yoshi eat the green shell and take the red shell down underneath and knokk Yoshi down, if I'm korrekt, then the Yoshi will fall down with the green shell in his mouth and then you have Yoshi, the green shell, and the red shell with you!

I think you should have tossed the red shell over, had yoshi swallow the green shell, then Jumped off of yoshi over the chompers. And then when you throw the red shell up, yoshi would fall down with the blue shell still in his mouth.

Y'know, there was an easier way to get both shells on yoshi. one, you hold down the run button and jump onto yoshi AFTER you position him almost right on top of the red shell. you'll be holding the shell and riding. Then swallow then green shell. you should still be holding the red one when you get off.
