  • I can't even lie; Dallas does seem to be a lot easier on the eyes than Houston.

  • @boboz90 I have to say I love this video too. Dallas seems like a hot place to live. I'm not sure I'd stick temperatures above 40 celsius and I'd burn easy too. I have worked with Texans before and they told me all about life in Texas.

  • Is it me, or are almost all the cars in this video black, white or grey?

  • What is that big white building on the east (right-handed) side of the DNT at 3:23

  • @MDCSWildcats86 its a regions bank building.

  • Awesome, I grew up watching this be built and driving it in my young adulthood. It has undergone transformation in the ten years I have been away from that area.

  • As of December 11, 2010 NTTA has closed all cash lanes. All non tolltag owners use ZipCash. NTTA simply takes a picture of your plates, finds your address and mails you a bill. All zipcash rates are 50% higher than tolltag rates. NTTA has already placed new gantries (like the one seen at 1:04 ) next to the current gantries which only have 2 high speed lanes in them. NTTA will soon remove the currenty gantries and activate the new ones, allowing all three lanes to have high speed tolling.

  • @kramer3214 Next week, they are demolishing the Keller Springs Rd. and Parker Rd. Toll plazas, and replacing them with ETC gantries...

  • everything bigger in texas

  • Great job with the video, I have not driven the Tollway yet, looks like something from Pennsylvania in places.

  • I love Highland Park and University Park. They are very similar to the North Shore suburbs of Chicago, where I live.

  • Great vids. You really show some parts of Dallas that most would never even know exist

  • Name of the track for this vid? Love it!

  • @YucaTX @ 4:09

  • great!

  • I wish they more of that type of overhead sign gantries seen from 0:52 to 1:11 in the Houston area (though the Westpark Tollway has them for their tolling zones).

Nevertheless, a great video. Thanks for sharing.

  • I've gotta ask, what type of camera are you using? Great picture quality.

  • sony hdr xr520v 240 gb

  • Thanks man. I'm digging these travel vids.

  • I gotta admit, That's pretty sick

  • Well, I'm impressed.

  • Great video, as always. That interchange toward the end of the video is awesome!

  • You said in the video that they are planning to get rid of cash lanes. My curiosity comes in with how do they plan to handle traffic from people from out of town or state who don't have them?

  • it is said .. However every toll road in TX has a system developed by texas tollways /txdot if you so happen to get on a toll road with no tag and drive through the tag lanes , texas tollways will send you a bill for the full amount of the toll , plus another additional transaction fee of i believe 5 dollars .. it doesnt matter what state your license plate is located originally ..

  • however tollways here is my town , houston ,example westpark tollway it is ez-tag only . no exceptions tollroad police will pull you over immediatly ..

  • I've only ever heard of exits that you couldn't get off of without a toll pass. But making people get them and pay for them in order to use the freeway is a little much.

Granted Japan is pushy about people getting ETC.

  • @nc2888ksw They have strategically placed caneras that record the license plate numbers of the cars driving.

Those without the TollTag will get billed via mail.

  • Very nice! The southern section of the tollway looks a lot like something you'd see in Pennsylvania, only much nicer, great looking stack at 3:56.

  • I agree looks a lot like Pennsylvania, if they could do proper on and off ramps.

  • nniiiice

  • nice city

  • Awesome. Too bad you didn't take it all the way to Frisco ;)

Is it possible to shunpike? I believe I saw the first toll facility north of I-635.

I was also surprised to see only one lane going from I-35E to the DNT north. I thought that was the busiest connection (north-south).

  • i did .. i stoped the video here , because i needed gas . however when i got back on the freeway it wasnt anything special after this point .hmm toll gates look closly i passed 3 or 4 i believe

  • No Toll Is unavoidable at the i-635 interchange .. the first toll location isat 1:06 2nd 3:15 , and the last at the end of vid .. all exits you must pay toll to . with the exception right after a main toll plaza

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Also at Plano Parkway there is no toll both, both entering and exiting, probably because the George Bush Turnpike ramps take up to much room to put in a tool booth. I always travel to Plano Parkway and get on there when I go South and exit at Plano Parkway when I'm heading North from Dallas. (the Park exit does have a toll both and Parker is a Toll Plaza) :).

  • Dude your Dallas videos are awesome. Definitely one of my favorites. Has a hint of east coast antiquity, especially with the houston st. viaduct at the beginning.

  • yeah, amazing! thats the best vid man.

    thanks.

  • How come I can't save this in HD like I could your other videos?

  • its the processing time . usually 1080p vids take quite some time to post process even after the video is available ..

  • Thanks for the reply. Great work as always!!!

  • Nice video as always! Just a question, are you ever going to go to Louisiana or any other states to film? I would love to see New Orleans freeways!

  • i have footage of numerous freeways in new orleans . including many other cities west of it .. i plan on going back to reshoot . i even have the lke pontchatrain causeway freeway filmed .. longest bridge in the usa
