There are many much longer (taller from the bottom) escalators in the London subway system, much longer. I won't say taller because they go down to the subway stations or up to ground level, but they are certainly long and steeper too. some of the subway stations are hundreds of feet below ground. They are not like the cut and cover subways in NYC, they are tubes that are bored deep underground. Hence their nickname "The Tube"

there are so many long escalators in many cities in the world,
