@lisenyoudontknowme I don't know if they do it the same way everywhere, They sent the GED transcript and diploma in the mail. It took almost 2 weeks from the day I took it until I got all that. Hope that helps.
@astrnmy2007 i went on the website and put in my name and it says Records on file at the Texas Education Agency indicate that me was issued a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency,on 4/4/2011 i hope this means that i got it and god bless u
Alright, I just went in this morning to take it but when I got there I found out I couldn't yet. I live in Arkansas and the lady there told me that the test is absolutely free of charge in Arkansas but that I had to pass their practice test in order to qualify, it's the same difficulty but only half of the questions and half of the allotted time as the real one.
I ended up with almost a perfect score on the practice test, which really makes me happy. Got 752 average out of 800. Missed 2 questions out of 120 and she scored me perfectly on my practice essay and said it was one of the best she's ever read while working there (even though my handwriting sucks the big one). I could've gotten by only missing 1 question but I misread it, the other one I still would have missed though because I interpreted it differently.
Anyways, 2 weeks from now I go back and take the actual official test, the lady there said I did great and that she was impressed (especially considering I've been out of school since 1996). I was really worried and anxious but turns out the test is pretty easy, so that's a load off my shoulders and I'm pretty sure I'll pass just fine. I really want to focus though because she said if I do extremely well I can get a college scholarship (tuition paid). Wish me luck! =)
i'm glad for you passing the practice test. i had to do two parts of mine over because i didn't pass the first time. i passed the actual test first try though. it took me a while to get myself prepared for it all. good luck on the test. :-) which part of the state do you live in? i live in Arkansas too.
Thanks for the response! I was really nervous before but I feel a lot better now and can't wait to go back and get it over with in 2 weeks (my heart was about to pop out of my chest when I arrived at the test center). The lady there was nice too and I was the only one testing at the time so no distractions. Oh, and I live in Sharp County, you?
As for preparing for it, I've been out of school since the 2nd grade and didn't do squat for about 7 years (long, stupid story). For the last 4 or 5 years I've been playing a lot of on-and-off catchup trying to prepare, I still thought I'd only barely pass since I suck at math and don't know any advanced math but it turns out it was mostly useful day-to-day math and not the kind of mostly-theoretical junk I was expecting.
i went until i finished 3rd grade then was homeschooled from then on. the school here was bad back then, but i think it's gotten better nowadays since my brother goes there and they've been great with him. the math part was one i didn't pass on the practice test. i brushed up on that and made it through.
you're welcome. i live in the southwest part of the state in ouachita county. i felt nervous as can be when i went to test. i'm so glad that's all over with.
Alright just got my results, took it all in one day too, what a pain that was. Anyways, I passed with a 3550 total score and a 710 average standard score. =D
Glad that's over with. Thanks for the kind words, I wish you the best for the future. =)
Hey, how are you? Its been a while. I am going to take the second part of my ged in 2 hours. I am nervous. Its the last part so I can't wait to get it over with.
Congratulations. Was it hard? I'm studying for it now, both getting tutoring and taking online practice tests. I plan on taking the actual test sometime in April. I want it so bad....
that is fantastic news!! i really hope you get a chance to move to a more populated area. you're young and very bright and you deserve a chance at more of a social life. i'm rooting for you every single step of the way!!!! keep us informed!!!
i appreciate your comment. i feel that given the situation, that its likely the best to move from here due to the area being so isolated and the poor condition of the house. i feel as if it would make a major difference.

was the math and writing hard?
KrazzyK40509 11 months ago
@KrazzyK40509 It wasn't really bad. I had a lot of help from the staff at the center though, so I think that made it easier.
