  • I want a copy of this movie i am obsessed with this clip . any one have a copy for sell?

  • Altho there seems to be great interest in this movie, decent pre-print material seems elusive. This is the best quality clip I have seen on line. Archive.org claims to have the entire film, but it is impossible to watch - someone uploaded it in the wrong aspect ratio, so it is all stretched out and there is no focus. Altho I have a nice old 16mm print, I have no way to upload it or I would, but if I have one, there are others...and there is hope.. .

  • @Pantages98382

Yes your right, the quality is terrible, want to know the reason why? I ripped the movie but THE ARCHIVE wouldn't accept the original upload, so i converted it to 3GP, which is for mobiles, then re-converted it to another format so that the Website would allow the upload. Neverless the movie was uploaded to share to people who want to see a glimpse of the movie, quite a few downloaded it. If anyone complains i suggest uploading your own copy huh?

  • @BooppoopaDoop Too bad Archive is so picky I would like to upload my print - it is pristine - but don't have the equipment to record from film to video. I tried recording the preview trailer from Dead of Night (another rarity) from the screen with one of those "Flip" devices, but the result had such a flicker that I didn't want to put my name on it. Perhaps someday I will upgrade my equipment - I have other things I would like to share - I've collected for several decades.

  • @Pantages98382

I'm so sorry my last responce was so bitchy, its proberly becuse i checked the archive and everyone was complaining haha! nevermind. I was linked to this video by someone, who said check this video out, and then i checked ther archive and everyone was complaining.

I'f i ever get another chance, i will -re-rip the movie. Funny thing is that on Youtube you can watch uploads in HD, shame The Archive, isnt the same. Good luck to you <3

  • Helen Kane did a great job acting in Dangerous Nan McGrew

  • does anyone have this movie on DVD??

  • They're still stealing from artists today. But thanks for the legacy you left us Helen.

  • How the hell did she lose that lawsuit?

  • @LikaLaruku There was a sound bite from an artist named Baby Esther who used and baby-singing style before Helen Kane thus disproving that the "Boop Oop a Doop" was original to Helen Kane.

  • Oh, for the days when men were men and women were... errr, manlier men.

  • aaron, você consegue a tradução pra mim ?

  • Its amazing how she can get her voice like that! I Love her!!!! I love hearing her sing "I wanna be loved by you"

  • Lyrics please

  • She was funny, cute, talented, and from Da Bronx. What maw could'ja want?

  • love it

  • Cool, a live-action Betty Boop, who woulda thunkit.

  • Actaully, Paramount "thunkit" when they encouraged Fleischer Studios to develop the BETTY BOOP character based on Helen Kane.

  • R.I.P. Helen Kane

  • Paramount modeled betty boop after Helen Kane but never gave her credit for it. Helen sued in 1932 but unfortunately lost.

  • 1934.

  • @pillbox79 actually the lawsuit was in 1934. And yes Paramount was behind the development of BETTY BOOP as a deliberate caricature of Helen Kane even though it was denied. A trade ad placed a picture of Helen Kane next to a drawing of an early BETTY BOOP that supports this. While Miss Kane had a case, she obviously lost.

  • i love it!!!!i love her voice so much!! its so unique

  • Hey Aaron~

Thanks for "fixing this up"!! good job!

    ~Ginger

  • omg she is so adorable. i wish i coulda known her.

  • What a great number! Funny, the character name was used the next year in an early Betty Boop cartoon, "The Bum Bandit." Not the song, though.

  • realy funny this is!!! still the feeling of the 20´s in it!! Thanks for showing.

  • I just love it.....I've seen all her musical movies and this song is Helen Kane's best. When she sings this she has great comedic timing.

  • It's nice to see the inspiration for Betty Boop, Ms. Helen Kane...Boop-boop-a-doop.
