Dear Bajia, many thanks for this great recipe I tried it and it came out to be very successful, I am from India and i like your cooking style, here in India too we have stories to narrate about briyani, There are basically two( kacchi & pakki ) biryani which are cooked very delicately, all together there are 49 kinds of biryani, Your's is a unique Pakki biryani of a kind, my whole family enjoyed it and i would love to cook it over and over again. Recipe is great Bajiya. I did a bit of change in the recipe and it added a wonderful taste. In the end when chicken was done i grinded fried onion, poppy seeds, a bit of dry coconut along with curd and then added in the chicken. A wonderful aroma started coming of the cooker...

Baji, I couldn't find prunes at Indian store so I used dried plums (I normally use plums for biriyani). It turned out very good. I sprinkled little lemon juice over layers along with lemon slices. My family really liked it. I made onion pakora and it tasted good to.
@wasay208, i have asked ammi about it, i have never made pulao without rice cooker. for good old basmati rice water is 1 -1/2 times means 1 cup rice and 1-1/2 cup water/yakhni.
Wat if I don't have the rice cooker can I still make it??or wat is the best way to boil the rice so that they don't become pasty,wat is the ratio for 4 cups how much water needed, ??
@wasay208 for biryani you dont worry about water just fill the pot well let it boil add rice, make sure they boil free in water. stand there, in just a few min very thin rice grain you will be feeling in them when that grain is become hair thin throw the water away. and layer it with meat in a pot and put the pot in oven for 35-30 min 180c pree heat. or leve it on stove on lowest heat covring fully.
I have been waiting for a traditional northern biriyani receipe. It looks tasty. I make south Indian style biriyani at least 5 to 6 times a year. I don't speak Hindi or Urdu but I understood everything chef explaining because of the picturization and some English words in between her talk. I will try this biriyani tomorrow because I don't have prunes or dried plums in stock.
@ad75093 Good luck, the prunes we have used are not the one availeble in the market. you can only get them from indian store. they taste like tamarind. otherwise dont add.

@noshak i will be doing all these in english too, this channel was not created intentionally but it became very popular. I struggle and hardly find time. There are some already in English as well. all the ingrediants are mentioned in english here.
@noshak : I believe if you are really interested in cooking something then language is hardly an obstacle!! I have made many dishes watching South Indian you tube channels and even the ingredients are not in english. Bajia is already working so hard to get these awesome fool-proof recipes to us. @Roshan3L : Yes there are a few things that do not go bad, like oil, vinegar, whole spices......you know even some of the medicines are not hazardous after the expiry date, they just lose their strength.

@kourses, bohot shukriyah :) cawal behtareen hon, khoob sare pani main ubalna, jab ander kacha dana na rahe per sakht hoon chawal to pani nichor lena. aag taiz he rakhna ubale ke liye. pani uble to chawal dalna. phir dam kerna low heat, tawa ho to pot ke nichey dam ke waqt rakh lena. pot ki lid per koye bhari cheez rakh dena. ta bhap na nikle. rice cooker ho to koye mushkil naheen good luck :)

@2wansar,prunes aaloo bukhare ko kehte hain, bahir ke prunes aur hain aur pakistan india ke aur, wo imli jaise hain. khatte aur biryani main zaroor dalte hain. karara touch dete hain, kewra water to firni main bhi bohot use tota hai khushboo aise jaise strong green cardimon and vanillah and rose mixd. strong but imp, use just few drops at first. it does give pro touch
I love ur channel and your cooking videos.. I did try your keema and chicken qorma and they turned out fantastic.. But when it comes to this recipe i thought the spices were a bit too much.. I added everything according to your recipe except oil but felt the spices were overpowering.. Coz when you eat rice All you taste is Spices.. Chicken was good..Don't know where I went wrong
@snadimpalli24, its the same thing as qorma, just focus what spice was strong. think about it and let me know. just a little more of cloves or cinnamon can make a mess. Usually its very nice. But less oil in biryani is not the right thing to do.
@dthameem, Mostly meat is the same weight as rice, some people use a little more. Like 1 kg rice and 1 ½ kg meat or chicken. The spices I have used are good for this much.

The timings depend on the age and size of the chicken. jab meat gal jata hai phir bhoonte hain, ager tair aag na rakho to ghul jaye ya wo ferq reh jaye jo uble hoye main aur tale huway main hota hai
tum ko khana mana hai, ya sab ko he ? saffron ka bohot strong taste hota hai. zerdah rang phool ka polin hai wo use ker lo. doosra ajj ki her cheez main rang hai, mirchon haldi tak main, koye cheez without colour naheen hai. sab main milawat hai.

@Roshan3L : Yes there are a few things that do not go bad, like oil, vinegar, whole spices......you know even some of the medicines are not hazardous after the expiry date, they just lose their strength.

omg always wondered how s taste biryani, now just saw video , we make Rice simple but very taste, with meat , chestnut, dried fruits....we dont use too much spices but wanna eat biryani

Ma'm, aap ki behtreen baat yeh hai ke aap bilkul bhi annoying nahin hain :)Plus jo akhir mein aap dua deti hain...priceless. I love to cook for others and rice is something that always scare me, specially biryani. I'll try this and hopefully it turns out good. @kourses, bohot shukriyah :) cawal behtareen hon, khoob sare pani main ubalna, jab ander kacha dana na rahe per sakht hoon chawal to pani nichor lena. aag taiz he rakhna ubale ke liye. pani uble to chawal dalna. phir dam kerna low heat, tawa ho to pot ke nichey dam ke waqt rakh lena. pot ki lid per koye bhari cheez rakh dena. ta bhap na nikle. rice cooker ho to koye mushkil naheen good luck :)

@2wansar,prunes aaloo bukhare ko kehte hain, bahir ke prunes aur hain aur pakistan india ke aur, wo imli jaise hain. khatte aur biryani main zaroor dalte hain. karara touch dete hain, kewra water to firni main bhi bohot use tota hai khushboo aise jaise strong green cardimon and vanillah and rose mixd. strong but imp, use just few drops at first. it does give pro touch

I love ur channel and your cooking videos.. I did try your keema and chicken qorma and they turned out fantastic.. But when it comes to this recipe i thought the spices were a bit too much.. I added everything according to your recipe except oil but felt the spices were overpowering.. Coz when you eat rice All you taste is Spices.. Chicken was good..Don't know where I went wrong

@snadimpalli24, its the same thing as qorma, just focus what spice was strong. think about it and let me know. just a little more of cloves or cinnamon can make a mess. Usually its very nice. But less oil in biryani is not the right thing to do.

@dthameem, Mostly meat is the same weight as rice, some people use a little more. Like 1 kg rice and 1 ½ kg meat or chicken. The spices I have used are good for this much.

The timings depend on the age and size of the chicken. jab meat gal jata hai phir bhoonte hain, ager tair aag na rakho to ghul jaye ya wo ferq reh jaye jo uble hoye main aur tale huway main hota hai

tum ko khana mana hai, ya sab ko he ? saffron ka bohot strong taste hota hai. zerdah rang phool ka polin hai wo use ker lo. doosra ajj ki her cheez main rang hai, mirchon haldi tak main, koye cheez without colour naheen hai. sab main milawat hai.

With less oil you dont get good results, what i always do that i don’t mix well so oil stays at the bottom.
