  • I really liked it actually, the Lynchian touches worked well and it made me think for such a short piece of film, keep it up :) Could you please explain how you got in contact with the director of "Philosophy of a Knife" because i need to find out how to get permission to use music for a film I am working on, thank you :)

  • i don't really see the David Lynch, but i suppose i've only watched The Elephant Man and Eraserhead..

  • I liked the David Lynch style too. What is the significance of the number 3 and 303? 3 cars, 3 steps. I agree with the other comments about the loudness of the music, but really liked the edginess of it.

  • @qusnakaal The cars are unintentional, but the rest must have come from the subconscious since there are only three characters in the film: Jeff, Jon, and Anne.

  • I like the quality of the outdoor shots, sets mood. Doesn't bother me the actors show little emotion, mimics societies complacency/sanguine/dissociation. Music does need work. I see where you're going but its just a bit overkill. Think David Lynch, the provocateur. Toning the music down may actually increase the tension rather than having it overpower your audience. Good job! Keep at it!

  • @fannyp3 Thanks. I like the music and how it matches some of the moments in the film, but I also think it's at least a bit unnecessarily overdramatic and I've already got a few negative comments about it. I wanted something I could easily use with permission and I went through the soundtrack of the graphic horror film "Philosophy of a Knife" I had recently discovered. I felt this song was appropriate enough, so I picked it and eventually got permission from the film's director.

  • Have you ever actually seen a dave lynch film?

I agree with that person below. the music dose not fit at all.

But congrats on finishing a film.

Carry on. but think twice at the little things next time ay.....

  • @beeth939 Yes, I've seen five of his films. Did you not notice the one direct reference to "Lost Highway"? Thanks for the encouraging words, though. I do plan to make much better films than this.

  • @EclecticEnnui

  • abstract ?? awesome! Loved the lynch style

  • and different name

  • I think u overdone it with music, most of the time just didnt fit the video.Acting is rubbish,no signs of any emotions on there faces.he killed someone for fuck sake!fight scene is bad has to be faster, movement and video cut.first half of the video is too long, cut out unnecessary.what is it with the plate and egg shells??why is it there for?also I think its has to be more cinematic,if yo chosen noir style.not cheap video quality.

But well done for actualy finishing and uploading it. Carry on!

  • awful, just awful

  • @RRMRS Do you have any *constructive* criticism?

  • Think you should change the name it might get more views. You should change the title to something more catchy and mordid. And why does that guy who was "murdered" reappear at the end?

  • very good! I like your video! Really interesting! I think it is so cool how you got into 2 film festivals! Hope it does well!

  • damn this is p deep wow!!!
