  • I'm sitting here with my little brothers laughing, because his voice is so low!!!! Gosh!!! Haha :D

  • I love Josh Turner! His low notes make me melt!

  • Wow omg that's low xD

  • 1:44 is actually a G4

  • He has about two octaves of clear tone. Powerful lows. He is not only a bass, but an exceptionally good one... Those debating range, etc... You do realize the classifications only exist so that composers for musicals, opera, etc... can write a specific peace for a target two octave range. Many pro singers apply dynamics of falsetto, vocal fry and can clear about 3 octaves making their voices harder to classify.

  • josh turner is a baby compared to russian oktaists

  • He's got a very unique voice.

  • A g1?????O.o

  • 1 person doesnt have a home down on the river

  • holy fuck~!

  • wonder if he was AI Scotty got inspired by him? :D you know because i can hear the same kind of tone here ;)

  • So, I think I'm a baritone but I'm not sure. My lowest note is a (strained) G1, my highest belt is a C5 (though I can belt a mixed D5), and my highest note overall is a B6 in whistle (I've gotten a C7 before but can't do it consistently).

Any ideas on what my classification might be? Some people have said tenor but I doubt a tenor could hit a G1, even if they were reaching.

  • @BlondeSinger21 I've had operatic training, I'd say from the sounds of things you are a high baritone with an impressive whistle register. Now I'm a tenor but I am to hit as low as a C-0 (not bragging just saying) every voice is different, don't hit those low low or high high notes if they're not needed the main notes you'll want is anything from Bb1 to G#4 those are the main notes people tend to go for if I'm correct =) So yeah, you're a high baritone

  • @BlondeSinger21 I guess it depends on your range and what register you normally sing in. My range is relatively wide (Bb1-C5, not bragging) but I sing in a pretty low register, so I would be considered a low baritone. But based on this, I'd say you're a low tenor.

  • His low notes are scary! I can get myself down to a G1 but it doesn't sound anywhere near that resonant.

  • 01:58 i think it´s an F4, not a G4

  • @JakobRobert00 you're right

  • I have no idea who he is but his voice is crazy good...I loved that F4

  • @Aznnick1134 Mic or no Mic, his notes are still powerful.....Asshole.

  • I'm a Baritone i can only go as low as a g2 :/ he has skills

  • Its actually not that difficult. I'm 16 and can sing his low notes, and my regular speaking voice isn't even that low. It took a lil practice tho like maybe a few days.

  • lol i can only reach B1

  • @kalakalachuchu that's pretty low, dude. jussayin. i can only hit an F2 if i reeeeally dig for it.

  • i can't even reach a a2, and i'm man lol

  • @drigao16 Tenors have lots of good songs...

  • @drigao16 how old are you?

  • @bixxius i'm 18, and with sing lessons I can reach a e2, but is really hard

  • @drigao16 well, maybe you're a tenor then

  • @drigao16 i don´t think that´s possible.

even tenors can reach an A2 with a bit effort.

do you have a high voice when speaking?

  • @JakobRobert00 I speak in e3 to c4

  • @drigao16 are you a woman or a man?

because E3 is almost like a contralto (F3-F5).

    when i speak i speak from about G2-D3 and i´m a baritone.

  • watch?v=lFk2a-e0RYQ In this clip, he have trouble in htting B1 and his B1 is not powerful even if he sing with microphone. it means he is a baritone or bass-baritone. he never be a basso profondo.

  • @sunbingche Oh, come on. There are true basses who can't hit B1 at all. If you have a powerful C2, you're generally a bass.

  • Hate to break it to some people, but his low notes are around 90% frytone:/ he has an amazing voice, his frytone is incredible, but it's not all his regular voice.

  • @jorgescroggins yeah..that's his frytone!

  • @jorgescroggins Fry? Hell no.

  • i saw a 1 and was like O_O

  • His vocal cords are thicker than my biceps.

  • 0:51 to 0:59 gave me chills all over!

  • Dude's got bass guitar strings for vocal chords..

  • :O his vocal range in chest voice is massive, and i aint gay but he is so ridiculously good looking... not like I wish I was him or anything XD

  • Haha i can sing that low but good luck getting me much higher than middle c

  • 1:44 →G4

    2:00 →F4

    2:02 →B5 :)

  • a think he is a bass-baritone with a upgrade in the low register, cause ins't that confortable to him reach these notes

  • you left out the small octave (C3)

the vocal range is very impressive

it´s so impressive that he can hit an f4 without head voice although he´s a bass

  • The only reason his voice is that low is because he smokes. So don't get jealous, guys. I would sound like that too with a year or two of smoking, so don't sweat it.

  • @yuptydoo He's never smoked. He said it in a magazine that I have. And, I'm a fan of his Facebook page, and he said that he never smoked.

  • @Manachu78

And you believe him, because celebrities have never lied to us before...

    =)

  • @yuptydoo That's more evidence than you have.

  • Josh is deffinetly NOT a baritone. Basso Profondo (Lowes kind of voice in western music) goes to a D2 while he easily goes to G1 live. He´s an Octavist, the lowest voice there is singing one octave below the bassline (hence the name). They´re selldom heard outside the orthodox churches of Russia.

  • @LoverofLiszt Josh is definitely a true bass.

  • @zeekguy43 a simple exercise for low notes, starts high and then go low, repeat a few times a day and you will get used, voice changes constantly, you have to have patience

  • @NUJKY1 HAHA, for once....somebody that actually stated an exercise thats true....and that I do. even though Low isn't the way I'm working my voice, I'm trying to eliminate my break to hit higher notes. but thanks though.

  • @zeekguy43 Well, I am 36 and sing and pretty much have the exact range of Josh Turner. Although everbody who hears me demands a Crash Test Dummies song, lol! Anyway, practicing singing low only helps a little. That deep resonating voice cannot be trained. Impossible! I'm lucky to have it and trust me, if it were possible to train your voice to be deep, all of my buddies would have a voice like mine. I'm not trying to be arrogant but just be who you are. Not everone gives a shit about a low voice

  • @bottomfeeder73 yeeeeaaah ;-)

  • @bottomfeeder73 very true indeed, I don't really work my lower range alot, just as more of giving my voice a little break. and I belive different, I believe it could be trined cause I have seen it happen but hey, we all believe differently and I don;t discriminate you for believein different than I do, were 2 different people, were going to believe differently and thts just life. but yeah, I usually try to increase my voice higher, not lower. you have a good point though.

  • @bottomfeeder73 Well, most people DO have Vocal Fry (the lower notes are sang using this voice) the only thing is they dont know how to use it. The same goes to Whistle Voice, almost everyone can sing really high notes but most people dont know how to access it. :D But i agree with you, me, I have 7 octaves but I dont like singing low cuz I prefer singing soft ballads and those require higher notes. Each person needs to find the music that matches them and sing it with their unique voice :)

  • @EmmanuelxMusic yeah and i sind 12 octaves and have collaborations with mariah carey & minnie ripperton

  • @bottomfeeder73

low voices just don't sound as good as higher voices, they also cant cut through a band, I feel sorry for you

  • @turtles12 Well, I suppose that's all personal preference. As far as feeling sorry for me? Don't! LOL! It really does get me a lot of attention, whether or not I want it.

  • @bottomfeeder73 That's right, not everyone gives a shit about a low voice, I have one and I used to be really frustraded cause I can't sing almost any of man songs in pop, soul, blues, and rock. And low notes don't impress as much as high notes. So I just sing Sinatra songs, cause is what actually fits my tone and range.

  • G1 omfg

  • I'm a theatrical kind of singing bass and tenor: C2/B4 all the way.

  • I love that C2! :D

  • @deonoxivar cómo se llama esa canción del C2???

  • @bobpmw "Way down south" from the "Your man/ Long black train" double-CD.

  • The B4 is actually falsetto. And the F4 is really G4.

  • yeah, i believe you Gman4871

I'm 15 and i can sing that low too. Could last year as well :)

    *knuckle bump* for awesome voices.

  • I can sing down to the same pitches, but (and this is my ONLY criticism of him) I can actually "sing" at the B1. The rule I follow is that if you can't make words, it's not singing. Neither the G1, or really even the A1 count as "in his range" because he's just growling. Still much better than most however, and while most of his power is in his baritone, I'll call him a bass because there aren't any in modern music. And BTW, that's not "Head voice" it's falsetto. Head voice is totally different.

  • His voice is so sexy!

  • i can sing that low and im 14

  • @Gman4871 Yeah right!

  • Jeez I wish I could sing that low!!!

  • @LilTSkater Few men can, even for those who are classified as basses. Most can't go below C2.

  • Good lord, his low notes are soo full and powerful lol.
