Awesome, just what I needed to know for the project I'm working on...I was doing something like this with India Inks, but someone had told me to use sepia for my skin tone! It was awful....way too dark to be my color (close, but really not good enough)....this should help me get it right this time.
@oldpiq I agree... but then I thought to think: If the artist were black, for example, and he/she said 'this is skin tone.' I would expect if to be black... know what i mean? it's all about who's doing it and from their perspective.
What about the skin tone of black people?

Start to look more like white skin tone..Not much help at all. I am a Negroid :(

@SexuelleBelle to get different shades of brown try mixing different amount of burnt umber with yellow ochre and diffrent amounts of water.

It's a little scary that we think our default "skin tone" is Anglo Saxon piggy pink. Remnants of colonialism.
