Actully America is a republic not a democracy! There is a huge difference. You assert we are not supposed to be a right wing fundamentalist nation, but you want a left wing wacko country instead? Leftists are the most intolerant people its their way or no way!

When conservatives use the term "Judeo-Christian values" they are not including Jews.  Jews are perfectly comfortable living in a secular society wre religion is a private matter. The foundation of America is democracy, individual rights and tolerance for all creeds, not right wing fundamentalism.

I'd love to know how he figures Christianity "did the urban renewal". The black churches in the poor and struggling sections of America's cities were almost without exception built for white congregations as were almost all the houses in those neighborhoods. Those white churches moved to the suburbs in the white flights.

I have never heard of David Barton, but he's a propagandist, which means he's a liar. If you would credit Christianity for the Abolition Movement, then you have to explain how it was that the leaders and members of every major denomination in the US including Quakers figured out a way to own or otherwise profit from slavery while calling themselves Christians (and the occasional Jew). If you want, you can explain why the Pope gave the green light to slavery in the 16TH Century.
