Actually the 1uz has plenty of potential to go extremely fast, however it is alot more expensive then just dropping the supra 2jz-gte. With the newer vvti 98+ sc400 1uz gets stock 285hp, add intake/exhaust/headers and ur looking at 300+ which is as fast as most sport cars today. And if its too heavy, thats why they invented cabon fiber

while you swapping hte engine, you should have looked for a W58 tranny.. or even a supra twin turbo engine. In fact, there are alot of good condition sc400's still around and decently priced since no one wants an auto gas guzzler.... prob could have saved cash to keep looking for a better condition one, and started performance tuning from there. But its always fun to have a project...
