I just picked up a similar unit yesterday for all of $30! The amp has 4 EL84 's and 2 12AX7 and the preamp has about 8 tubes as well. This is really well made gear. All point to point wired tube equipment costs a small fortune these days. I can't wait to get mine back up to snuff. It needs a new dial cord, needle and a thorough cleaning. I'm also going to check the caps. I feel almost as stoked as when I found a Mac 4100 receiver for $25 at an estate sale. :)

Zenith really made some top quality console consumer electronics back then.

I'll second that....Zenith and Magnavox from the 1950s through the mid 60's were unbeatable.

This is the console I've been looking for.
I must confess to some envy! ;)
IF I had one, I'd definitely coonsider it a KEEPER!
I have not seen its insides for a long time, let alone hear one in person.
It would be kewl to see its speaker and amplifier if you ever remove the back cover. Thanks for a fine vid on a very fine console.
