The problem is every president tries. So to say "get off his back he's trying" is kind of a dumb excuse. I never said he wasn't trying, I've said I disagree with his decisions. To say he still believes in compromise is laughable, his idea of compromise is the other side better damn well agree with him or else. Its also silly to think he sticks to his principals. Bush era tax cuts? Afghanistan? You were elected because you were against those things.

Okay, here goes. This is going to be difficult for you to understand because we have a major cultural barrier and have been raised under different institutions.
In America, the role of healthcare insurance has been performed by the private sector for generations. Americans that oppose a NHS in America believe that the private sector is infinitely superior to the government in almost every manner- bar the obvious, like police, fire, or national defense, 911, etc. -to be continued...
Part two. The laws in our nation already require that we give healthcare to everyone regardless of the ability to pay. It's called the "Hill Burton Act" and is encoded in "Title XVI of the Public Health Service Act". No hospital can ever turn away any man for the lack of pay. Lefists try to depict our system as tossing hobos with strokes onto the street and going "screw you"... -but that's a lie. To be continued.
Part three. The healthcare insurance debate in America isn't to give everyone life-saving and neccesary medicine, surgeries, and healing. See, when a man that can't pay enters, say, an emergency room, he is given the same healthcare as a paying customer is. It doesn't matter if it's a cast or neurosurgery, he gets it. This is offset by the paying customers in the hospital. In other words, the poor's service are paid by the ones that can afford their services. To be continued.
Part four. To ensure that people don't mooch the system and go to the ER under Hill-Burton, hospitals give paying customers perks and luxuries that have nothing to do with the quality of healthcare or the priority in which care is given. Everyone gets healthcare, but only those who pay get the ritz.
If I pay, I'll get a room with a window, food, etc. etc., but if I don't, I'll still get the care I deserve and need.
It boils down to perks and luxuries. To be continued.
Part five. America's healthcare debate isn't about the care itself. It's about insurance and the perks and luxuries that payers get, as opposed to those who can't afford it. Those who oppose Obama's reform are not opposing giving healthcare to those who can't afford it. We are uniformly united in support of the Hill-Burton Act.
We feel that those who can't pay DO deserve to be cured and healed like any other person. -but they DON'T deserve the perks that others are entitled to. TBC.
Part six. In the eyes of rightists, it boils down to a sense of entitlement. We see the reform plan as expanding a sense of entitlement. Those who work pay hospitals for perks and luxuries that have nothing to do with healing, but all to do with comfort and ease. These payments subsidize the people who can't afford to pay.
We don't think someone who can't afford luxuries should get them. They must earn them, work for them, like all of us. To us, it's mooching, and we hate that. TBC.
Part seven. America DOES give healthcare to each citizen for free, and not just the basics, either. If you can't afford a lifesaving operation or a medication you need to live, or, heck, if you can't afford to fix a broken bone, you'll still get it. Your bill will then be reimbursed by the people who pay to get luxuries and perks that have nothing to do with the quality of care.
That is how America's healthcare system works. I believe it's called "two-tier".

You don't have to like Obama to love this. I'm a proud GOPper and vehemently against Obama and most all he stands for... -but I know brilliance when I see it, and this, THIS, is amazing.

No problem! It's very rare that quality can be lowered by partisanship. Heck, I even like the way Obama's sort of, well, sort of arrogant in this song, like he's all that. -and the way he twitches when he says "EXTREMIST Right fanatics", and the Sarah Palin stuff. It's genius! How can anyone hate this?
-and the best part, of course, is when he "holds the password for the Bomb and yet he's scooping up the doggy poop"! When I first heard that, I laughed in real life.

Okay, here goes. This is going to be difficult for you to understand because we have a major cultural barrier and have been raised under different institutions.
In America, the role of healthcare insurance has been performed by the private sector for generations. Americans that oppose a NHS in America believe that the private sector is infinitely superior to the government in almost every manner- bar the obvious, like police, fire, or national defense, 911, etc. -to be continued...

Part two. The laws in our nation already require that we give healthcare to everyone regardless of the ability to pay. It's called the "Hill Burton Act" and is encoded in "Title XVI of the Public Health Service Act". No hospital can ever turn away any man for the lack of pay. Lefists try to depict our system as tossing hobos with strokes onto the street and going "screw you"... -but that's a lie. To be continued.

Part three. The healthcare insurance debate in America isn't to give everyone life-saving and neccesary medicine, surgeries, and healing. See, when a man that can't pay enters, say, an emergency room, he is given the same healthcare as a paying customer is. It doesn't matter if it's a cast or neurosurgery, he gets it. This is offset by the paying customers in the hospital. In other words, the poor's service are paid by the ones that can afford their services. To be continued.

Part four. To ensure that people don't mooch the system and go to the ER under Hill-Burton, hospitals give paying customers perks and luxuries that have nothing to do with the quality of healthcare or the priority in which care is given. Everyone gets healthcare, but only those who pay get the ritz.
If I pay, I'll get a room with a window, food, etc. etc., but if I don't, I'll still get the care I deserve and need.
It boils down to perks and luxuries. To be continued.

Part five. America's healthcare debate isn't about the care itself. It's about insurance and the perks and luxuries that payers get, as opposed to those who can't afford it. Those who oppose Obama's reform are not opposing giving healthcare to those who can't afford it. We are uniformly united in support of the Hill-Burton Act.
We feel that those who can't pay DO deserve to be cured and healed like any other person. -but they DON'T deserve the perks that others are entitled to. TBC.

Part six. In the eyes of rightists, it boils down to a sense of entitlement. We see the reform plan as expanding a sense of entitlement. Those who work pay hospitals for perks and luxuries that have nothing to do with healing, but all to do with comfort and ease. These payments subsidize the people who can't afford to pay.
We don't think someone who can't afford luxuries should get them. They must earn them, work for them, like all of us. To us, it's mooching, and we hate that. TBC.

Part seven. America DOES give healthcare to each citizen for free, and not just the basics, either. If you can't afford a lifesaving operation or a medication you need to live, or, heck, if you can't afford to fix a broken bone, you'll still get it. Your bill will then be reimbursed by the people who pay to get luxuries and perks that have nothing to do with the quality of care.
That is how America's healthcare system works. I believe it's called "two-tier".

@TurtleShroom Ah, I see. Ok yes I see now where you might be opposed to such reforms now. And trust me I know that the private sector is better than the government run hospitals. A friend of mine awhile ago had to pay £20,000 to get an operation for her child to save his life on this machine you guys have that we don't. I think American TV has really painted a bad image of the American health-care system though. Part one TBC

@Katysguy Part Two. The thing is aren't the ones that can't pay for Med treatment not given the same amount of tests that a paying patient is? Also, a big part of medicine isn't only delaying death but improving the quality of life (according to Patch Adams at least) what about the procedures to help people live better?
